Koku Shi Dunfermline — Restaurant in Dunfermline

Well. This place need some attention, if they want to be real Japanese restaurant. Place looks clean and fancy with annoying hiphop/R&B music. We order drinks first. Simple think. Earl grey tea and juice. My wife she expect to get something like tea pot with boiling water or maybe (Kyūsu). But she only got tea cup with boiling water and tea bag on the side. Never seen that before :))) but. OK. Let's keep going. For a starter we ordered plate of hosomaki, and for main course Pork Belly Ramen. After while we get the Sushi. And that's was really poor made. Even looks like some amateur made that. Rice was overcooked and tasteless. Nori was queit dry and chewy. Ok...now Ramen.. :))). I'm big fan of Ramen...so that's was nice surprise when i seen Pork Belly ramen on the menu. Right... About Pork Belly Chashu. That's supposed to be rolled pork belly, boiled and carmelized, then cutted in slice. Pork Belly wasn't almost carmelized, but the worse think was. The Chef, he just pour all fat after carmelization straight to the broth. And that just give us a thick layer of oil on the top. It's a shame. Because the broth was really nice and tasty. Really salty as well but... Tasty :). Ramen is about the noodles as well. They was tasty too. Just wish to have bit more of them. Ingredients suppose to lay down on the noodles, but because wasn't many of them. They just drowned. My wife finished all noodles with ingredients, didn't finish the broth (too salty). And still was almost a full bowl of broth. Ok let's pay the bill and run. I got my bill and card reader to my hand. And there is the best part. Waiter told me to tap on the reader. How much i want to pay :))). Well i just copied value from the bill. Sorry guys but no tip. I highly recommend to see Japanese comedy movie about Ramen " Tampopo". You can learn a lot...

Warning!!! Your sea food soup has prawn with poo on them disgusting. You need remove it before cooking it ! Massive no! I have order from them many times, my last takeaway was so so unfortunately today one made me super ill. Your Japanese curry soup need recipe change as is no eatable and your ramen brooth has absolutely no teste to eat is basically like water without flavour. I have order it from yous in past and was delicious. Disgusting taste in today one went to bin within hour of eating your food I became very ill. Definitely wasn't fresh I know my Japanese food. Forgot to add that in my previous order my premium sushi was missing my partner had already finished his food when they dropped of my sushi. So nice evening end up bit disappointing. We want be back you have lost very regular customer. We have spend lot of money with yous. And yous went...

Worst tasting Japanese food ive ever tasted how this place has 4.6 stars baffles me. Had tempura prawns had zero taste Crunchy chicken again not great overpowering with sauce most likely to cover the frozen chicken taste. I also had the chicken stir fry noodles basically ginger noodles as thats all you can taste the dried out chicken again no taste. My partner had the ramen chicken asked for breaded didn't get it and the taste of that was shocking could only liken the taste to cooking it your bath water. After the meal not a single member of staff asked how the meal was just cleared the table and handed us the bill witch im still furious with myself for actually paying. Please do not waste your time and money there are more authentic places than this overpriced microwave meals not 100% about the micro but...
