Awful just awful!! I was really excited about trying this buffet but I would rather have eaten at McDonalds! We were seated and told someone would be sent to take drinks order!...15 minutes later I actually had to stop someone to ask them to take drinks order..we were given no information about the layout or what food was where and half the food was not even out also labels were wrong and some dishes wrong according to labels!
Got our refill glasses and guess what juice was flat complained 5 times before it was resolved by this time I think half the restaurant had complained. I really grudged paying for my drink as in the 2 hours we were there I only had half a glass of juice!
I like to try and find positive but I really struggled today but here we go..Indian food good it's a shame there wasn't any hot curries though! Lack of variety!
Chinese was ok some dishes absolutely tasteless sauce was thin and really disappointing! Prawns in garlic sauce awful! The sauce tasted of water!
Worst sushi I have ever had!!! Rice undercooked sticky and no fish!!! Weird! I am sorry sushi is all about the fish you cant serve it up with vegetables and maybe a few with strands ...literally of tuna in it! Disgusting!!!
Also no utensils to pick some food up with and the wasabi was disgusting I love sushi but actually spat it out it was that bad.
Pizza was good but cold!
We found this hilarious fajitas with no wraps fantastic so you can have the filling but not the tortilla..wow! Also no salsa etc! Really!!
The British food was good! Went fast I assume because it was the only tasty thing there!
Within 45 minutes of us being there most dishes were empty and there didn't seem to be any rush in getting any new food out! I walked round lots of unhappy people!
Really dissapointed that the terrikyani bit wasn't open! Only at night! This would maybe of saved the day!
So we thought the puddings would save the day... well tiramisu was dry..my daughter even commented on how dry it was! apple crumble had no crumble..cheesecake was ok!
The venue is nice the idea is nice however everything else was absolutely rubbish..spend your money elsewhere where they actually care about the food and...
Read moreBooffi World Buffet: A Feast for the Senses (with a note on the air!) Dunfermline's newest culinary addition, Booffi World Buffet, has truly transformed its local venue into a vibrant dining destination, and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing it. From the moment I stepped in, I was delighted by their thoughtful touches, particularly the refreshing Vimto on tap – a unique and welcome offering! Their drinks menu is incredibly generous, with unlimited refills and fantastic prices that genuinely add to the overall excellent value for money. It's clear that Booffi aims to provide a comprehensive and affordable dining experience. The food selection itself is a culinary adventure! I indulged in a large variety of dishes, and each one was a testament to their quality – truly delightful and delicious. What made the experience even more exciting were the unexpected discoveries among their offerings; it's wonderful to find such diverse and surprising flavors in a buffet setting. However, I do feel it's important to mention one area for improvement. During our visit, particularly at what seemed like a busier period, my family and I, at one point, found ourselves struggling slightly with the air quality. The presence of smoke and a noticeable lack of fresh air, especially as the venue filled up, did impact our comfort. For an otherwise fantastic establishment, I would highly recommend that Booffi considers enhancing their extraction and ventilation systems, particularly to accommodate peak times. Addressing this would undoubtedly elevate the dining experience from great to truly exceptional. Despite this singular point, Booffi World Buffet is a fantastic addition to Dunfermline's dining scene. The incredible value, delicious food, and delightful beverage options make it a place I'd highly recommend for a...
Read moreLooks pleasant enough inside, but so tightly packed that it ends up feeling like a school canteen. Food was sparse and I found it a struggle to find a Chinese tray with any meat or fish in it. The massive grill apparently cooks only one portion at a time so don't bank on any freshly-cooked food!
The waiting staff were obviously untrained and unsupervised and just wandered around randomly trying to balance plates on top of cutlery and glasses. It was entertaining to hear all the crashes though.
Food labelling is poor and my son found a pile of food labels which he tried to match up with the relevant dishes, maybe he got it right - maybe he didn't. Best not to visit if you have allergies, just in case.
There's a pretty chocolate fountain but it's only for show as there was nothing to dip in it - no fruit kebabs or marshmallows. Maybe just stick your head under it? Don't worry about the quality of the ice-cream though, there's none of that soft machine stuff, in Kinema it's Tesco's own brand straight from the tub.
It's a shame our visit was so disappointing as the town could do with a place with this kind of variety (or an improved selection - fajitas without bread anyone?). The foods we did get to try actually tasted nice so there's lots of potential if the owners and managers actually commit to training their staff and filling up the food trays properly. I was there on an incredibly busy evening and they still chose not to properly 'buffet' their customers.
I fear there has been a lot of damage done to their reputation over this first week. I suggest reopening and offering a reduced price for a few days in 2019 to encourage people to try again. We certainly won't be...
