August bank holifday weekend. We arrived at 1.30.with no meet & greet, had to guess what table we was to use as no one showed us to our table. We was a party of 7, the waitress took our drinks & starter order fairly quickly, the drinks came in a reasonable time. This is where it started to go downhill. The wait for all 3 of our courses was long. No explanation of as to why came forward. No one came & asked how the food was, had to go downstairs to order some bread ourselves. As there seemed to be hardly any staff. We went to leave straight after our desert course. We obtained the bill at the bar downstairs as no one came upstairs to see if we needed anything, & noticed that the 5 slices of bread & butter totalled £8, bit of a rip off considering. The whole bill was just shy of £300, the food was nice, hot & decent portion size. We only had one drink each except one of our party had two. We was at our table for three hrs in total, not through choice, it took that long for the food to arrive We questioned the bread price but was met by the manager with no explanation of why it was so expensive. Questioning the delay in service at the point of paying, we were told that they were short staffed. If we had been warned there would be a delay in service at the outset, it would have been recieved better than being told when being presented with the bill. The manager's attitude was unacceptable when questioned about his management skills, very nonchalant & did not care. "Just pay the bill please" was his response. We live fairly local although got the feeling we were being treated like holiday makers that were only in the area for a short time. Safe to say, we wont be returning & will post this review on other platforms too. I hope future customers have a better experience & the manager receives...
Read moreMy partner and I decided on a quick one-night break away from home, and settled on a cross-county visit to Seaton. We booked this rooms-only apartment, not really knowing how it might compare with a more usual B&B.||It was easy to find; there is 1-hour parking outside, and overnight parking a few metres away on the seafront. The key safe (code provided on booking confirmation) was a bit fiddly but we soon were inside. There is then a very steep staircase to the apartment, which consists of a kitchenette cum sitting room, the double bedroom, and a shower/toilet room.||All fittings and furnishings seemed clean and looked pretty new. For a cold January night, the heating worked well, except the shower-room radiator which takes a long time to heat up. There are two TVs, one in the kitchenette and one in the bedroom. The former is oddly placed, at one end of the kitchenette wall - presumably to avoid being over the cooker. The sofa is quite narrow, and not particularly good for watching TV when we returned after an excellent meal at 'Le Pisani', but the bed was comfortable.||We needed to call the phone number provided to obtain the wi-fi password, as the apartment contained no written information of any kind! So overall this was OK for one night, and indeed would be fine for a longer self-catering stay - it's within easy walking distance of the town centre shops, restaurants, etc - as long as you're not looking...
Read moreOk so after a nice meal last time i was visiting Seaton, we decided to revisit picture house.
However, this time both our steaks were way undercooked, I ordered MW and got MR and my wife ordered EXTRA WELL DONE, she got MEDIUM. Now this isn't much of an issue for me, but wifey is breastfeeding, and due to allergies(Fish, Onions), steak was her only option. 1 steak undercooked a misstake, but both undercooked?🤔 last time I was here my steak was perfect, so I was disappointed.
The rest of the food were really good, the sallad on the side with the dressing was the best I had for a long time, and daughter really enjoyed the fishfingers from the kids menu.
the waitresses were extremly service minded, it's rare to get such service in Sweden where I'm from, I'm always amazed by the service in UK restaurants🤭. Atmosphere is calm and old fashioned, very family friendly.
We will ofc give it another try, but i dont think i will order steak next time. If you have a family, i will recommend you visit...
