Coffee Cherry — Restaurant in East Hampshire

Popped in this morning and ordered 2 drinks. I was very clear “one decaf flat white, one long black”. Staff only made the long black. Why they didn’t make the first drink is a mystery. The bigger mystery is why they shouted at me when I politely asked where the decaf flat white was. They cut me off and wouldn’t let me explain so I left feeling bemused as to why I was shouted at because of their inability to make 2 drinks. I understand they may have been confused because I was one person ordering 2 drinks, but this isn’t a game of Schrödinger cat. I still wanted a drink for myself and another person. That other person still exists and wanted a drink even if they weren’t in the shop physically. On a positive note, I purchased coffee beans and they are great. Would recommend beans, not the aggressive service.

Edit: if you watched the CCTV you could clearly hear that I didn’t change my order. Your response fails to acknowledge the rude behaviour...

Exactly what you would expect for a place that sets itself up as "coffee experts".

First, I had an amazing coffee there.

Then, supremely knowledgeable advice where they really listened to my preferences and had good suggestions.

Then a discussion of tools and techniques, where they clearly understand the ups and downs of how each technique can affect flavour.

Finally, a superior product - just ground some of their Guatamalan Huehuetenango beans, medium roast, and to say that the output beats "high street coffee" is an understatement (using upside/down aeropress, with a bloom phase, and double paper filters).

Wonderful independent coffee shop that offers something for everyone. Probably the best coffee in Alton - the only cafe in town that takes it seriously. Fantastic for coffee enthusiasts thanks to the variety of beans and brews on offer (V60 pour over, siphon etc.), but also great for anyone who just wants a good quality cappuccino and a nice piece of cake. All the staff are friendly and knowledgable, and the interior is very comfortable. So pleased for everyone in the team that the cafe has become such a success!...
