Gallery No 30 — Restaurant in East Hampshire

The place was lovely. Food was great quality. Server was lovely. However, we found a hair baked into one of the brownies. We didn't want to make a fuss. Accidents happen. But the manager was rude to us about it. It had brownie on the hair, too short for me and my husband is bald. We said we just wanted to alert them as the brownies might come from the same batch. She said they did, but didn't remove the rest from sale. She seemed very frustrated with us and didn't even apologise. She came back and asked 'are you done with that?' To the half eaten brownie and took the plate. Still no apology. Then we were still charged full price for the brownie without an offer of replacement or an apology. the brownies were still there...

Popped in for a cup of tea and slice of cake as I had an hour to kill … looks lovely with quirky decor …. Service was swift and ordered carrot cake which is a favourite …. However, one bite quickly noticed it was off to the inedible stage …. It went straight into a napkin to the delight of a fellow customer. Mentioned this to the waitress who just took the plate away without a word .No apology or investigation. I just paid the bill , again no questions about cake . An hour to kill lasted 10mins …. I went to Nero for a proper edible slice of cake…. I try to support independent businesses but poor customer service is not...

Came here when it it was Beatons and it was good then. Went on the off chance today and it was even better. We were greeted by the cheery lovely owner. We shared a club sandwich, which, by far was the best I have had for many years! We also had a coffee and a delicious slice of coffee and walnut cake.
