Elle's Kitchen in Hertford — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

This was the first and last time I’ll be ordering food from Elles Kitchen unfortunately.Very disappointing. I ordered our food at 18:15 for delivery at 19:00. I got an email a few minutes later confirming the order had been received and a messaged saying it would be 20 minutes late. I waited until 19:40, giving them the benefit of the doubt, but thought I’d better check up on our order as it was 40 mins late already . After calling for 10 minutes I finally got through and was told they had sent an email to say the food was going to be 20 mins late. I said that “yes I got the email and that the food is now 50 minutes late which is why I’m calling” . They then told me it would be another 20 minutes and would arrive around 20:10 and at that point I decided to cancel the order and get a refund. The time kept changing and I felt that they were just lying to me and trying to string me along, it was getting late and I had a family to feed. After I said I wanted a refund the story suddenly changed and they said the food was ready but it would still be another 20 mins late. I’d had enough of this by now and just wanted to get my money back and get on with cooking a meal for my family before it got too late. I still don’t have the refund and they have told me they will have to call me back tomorrow which I think is quite odd. Maybe it’s ok if you go into the restaurant but the takeaway service is awful. It wouldn’t have been so bad if they had been honest in the first place but now the family have no dinner and I’m down £67 with no idea of when I will get my refund. Wow wow and wow 👌 Friendly welcome from the moment we walked in the door. Had drinks as we searched through so many options in the menu. All looks so good, we knew we ordered more than we could eat but we wanted to try everything and they said they said they would happily box up any left overs we had, for us to take home. I'm glad we did over order coz everything was delicious such a variety of fresh flavours and spices. I'm not joking every mouthful was like a party inside. This isn't a place where they just chuck a bit of sauce on a bit of whatever and put it in front of you. No no no, it's like they care for every plate they serve, using fresh ingredients, spices and love before it's taken to your table. Yes we did eat all of the food, it was just toooo good. I was soo full i honestly couldn't move for a few hours but well worth it 😋😊 Service was amazing and all the staff were really friendly. A real place with real food and real people 👍💛👍 would recommend this place 1million % Just wish I lived closer so I could come here more often 😄 then again it's probably good i don't as I wouldn't be able to fit in my jeans anymore 😆 10 out of 10...

I took my mum here for her birthday. Lovely decor and atmosphere once it filled up. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted with a warm, friendly face which immediately made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic with so many flavours! Left me wanting more. We had the crispy duck with pancakes, king prawn curry and penang curry both with sticky rice, gyozas and vegetable spring rolls. All to die for! Very extensive menu with lots of choice. The waiter (I didn't catch his name) was extremely attentive and made us feel like nothing was a problem and very efficient. We will definitely, without a doubt be back again to work our way through the menu and I think ordering a takeaway from there is next!! 😁 Mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday...
