Quality golfing venue. 2 VERY different courses both of which test any golfer to the max. Hotchkin is a quick draining heathland course with few trees, massive bunkers that are in all the right (or wrong?) places and with heather lining the fairways. A severe test and not for the faint hearted. Play it off the yellows unless you are 5 or under. Bracken course is less severe with wide fairways and less punishing bunkers. The greens, however, are very undulating and the greenstaff know how to put pins in difficult places! Only observation was that the greens on both courses were surprisingly slow but suspect that was down to the weather conditions at the time...
Read moreUsed the driving range only for the first time in 2 years. What a difference, they have invested with the old range by building onto it that now includes a gym, golf simulator, indoor putting and a physio facility. The golf range has had an upgrade with fresh paint, new lighting, a guest room with vending machines and you can now pay contact less for a basket of balls. New toilet rooms make a very well presented facility that can be easily accessed by wheelchairs if needed. £6 for 100 balls may be on the side of expensive but it's worth it for where you are. Read moreTwo incredible golf courses which may just be the best value for money in the UK. Practice facilities looked great but were too busy the day we visited so didn't get to use them. Shop was well stocked, friendly service and the starters on both courses set us on our way very well. Clubhouse is tired and in need of an overall. I always look forward to a beer over looking the course after we finish but was disappointed with the bar and outdoor seating in offer. Will be back for the golf, if...
