I myself do not understand the negative reviews. We decide to still eat here as we were tempted by the food. I was interested in trying the chicken wings as the flavours (Bourbon BBQ sauce with crispy onions and spring onions/ Maple BBQ with doritos and cheese). My daughter ordered the fish fingers, mash, beans and then ice cream with chocolate sauce fir dessert (dessert included in one set price). My husband had Hunters chicken with mash and peas. Loved the service, the gentleman was lovely. Really polite, patient and even helped me shout to ask whether my husband wanted mash or a jacket potato (saved me the trouble of walking back to the table to ask, bless him). Absolute star and fab service, even waiting as i dealt with my crying daughter (she was tired and wanted to ask me for fruit juice). The we only waited a short while until our food all arrived. Me and my sister had two portions of 10 wings. We loved the wings, absolutely delicious. The were juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The toppings were generous and my photos don't do it justice. We loved them. My sister loved the maple BBQ too. Only had leftovers as we were so full, loved every bite; everyone from me to my youngest. The gentleman serving us was so nice and polite. When we asked for dessert to takeaway for my youngest, he apologised for the wait (just 15mins as it was getting busier) and even offered us a spoon to take (a metal one as they had no disposable ones). We left the spoon as we had some available at our hotel room. Also dessert was worth it,the Belgium chocolate sauce was perfect! Highly recommended! Also if you have a bigger appetite or as a group the chicken wings bucket has 25-30 wings approx would be great! I look forward to coming on our next holiday.

Went on a 50% off day and lots of people at door. No social distancing or enforcement of track and trace app. Ordered food and price seemed high. I questioned it and was told the menu is only for normal days not 50% off days so prices diffrent and drinks not included with meals as advertised. I carried on as we were hungry. I looked at receipt to find the 2 Berry ciders I had cost just under £10 this is appalling and ripping people off. The food eventually come and all of our chips were cold and rice was cold. We did tell a staff member to be told it was cooked fresh. The burgers were hot but buns stale. Whilst eating the que was getting bigger and everyone crammed in door as it was spitting with rain. A few other tables moaned about food and we're given a complimentary drink. We were very disappointed as it was good in here on our last visit. Bad customer service and not very covid safe. Then upon leaving by the exit door was a table with what looked very like bird droppings all over it. Was really put off as the same marks were on floor outside too

⭐⭐✩✩✩ I recently visited The Jolly Fisherman in Skegness for a quiet lunchtime experience. The venue was clean and tidy, and finding a seat was hassle-free. The staff were polite and welcoming, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. However, when it comes to the food, I was left underwhelmed. The prices for typical pub fare were higher than expected, and unfortunately, the quality didn't match. The pizza I ordered had a tough base and an overpowering cheese flavor, leaving much to be desired. My partner's "small" steak was ridiculously tiny, not what we're accustomed to for a steak portion. The so-called "Hot Burger" lacked heat and flavor, with minimal extra toppings despite an additional charge. On a positive note, the kids' meals were enjoyable and appropriately portioned. Overall, The Jolly Fisherman is okay at best, more suited for drinks than dining. While I'll return for the friendly staff and beverages, I'll be actively avoiding the food in the future.

Ordered via app. Drinks turned up and got plonked on table, had a Coke and a Coke Zero but weren't told which was which so had to ask, I then had to ask for the glass to be replaced as it was covered in lipstick. It was reasonably busy so I ws expecting a slight wait on food however people around us with larger orders who had ordered after us were getting their food pretty quickly so figured that it wouldn't be too long. Twenty minutes after ordering I noticed the pub's KMS screen (not sure what Stonegate call their system) and saw that our food was ready and told my partner that ours was next, ten minutes later still no food. I noticed few minutes later that the timer had been going for nearly ten minutes so I was expecting cold food at that point. A few minutes later the screen changed again and then the front of house team member (youngish girl, ahoulder length dyed red hair with glasses) closed off the order so I went over and said that she'd cleared off our order and we'd not had the food. She replied to me quite rudely "yeah, I did, someone took the wrap to the wrong table so they're doing another one, it won't be long but we are busy"

I understand being busy having worked in hospitality myself for over twenty years and I had no issue waiting, my issue was the lack of communication regarding the order and the issue with it being taken to the wrong table, if you're honest with your guests they'll understand. At no point did a team member approach us to tell us about the delay. I was also not happy about having a team member speak to me like that as I was not rude when I approached her so her attitude was not warranted. The food came out about ten minutes after this and we did get an apology. However as soon as she had put the food down it was clear to see that my burger had been sat under the hot light for the last twenty minutes as the top of the bun had a small darker brown patch from where the lamp had burnt it. The bun itself hadn't actually been toasted so the sauce had soaked through the bun and it had fallen apart, as a result of being under there for so long the lettuce on the bun had wilted quite badly and turned brown and the fries on both meals were stone cold.

Again, I understand that mistakes and delays can happen from time to time however a guest will be less likely to be annoyed if they wait nearly fifty minutes for two meals if the food turns up as expected and generally it's good pracrtice if there has been an issue with a meal being taken to the wrong table to replate the other meal to ensure that it's actually hot and of good quality. The price of a replacement burger bun and a couple of fresh portions of fries is nothing to ensure that customers get decent food. I went into a pub for a quick lunch, I don't expect gourmet cuisine and silver service but for £30 I at least expect to get something better than McDonald's, In hindsight we'd have been better off going to a food kiosk at the fairground. Had any of the team bothered to do a checkback I would have highlighted my dissatisfaction at the time however we did not recieve a checkback and it seemed that the team weren't even bothering to clear tables by that point and were too busy chatting as another guest cleared and wiped his own table. I'm not going to be melodramatic and say that this ruined my day however it did quite annoy me...

If you could leave minus stars rating, I would. Can't even put higher than one star for food, service or atmosphere because it was so awful in there & only did that because to post I have to put something! Didn't get the food, didn't get a service & the atmosphere is mostly awful from the staff. Can't imagine how any money is made to keep them open. I went in ordered through the app, confirming they seen the order as my drinks were on my table within 2 minutes I thought it would be quick service or at least normal however the drink was literal blackcurrant. The app said food would arrive 10 minutes later but I waited longer & longer. It got to 25 minutes my partner asked them where the food was. Whilst this was going on, I noticed the place was dead anyway so not much going on, barely any orders showed on the screen so shouldn't be long wait for food & I didn't order the whole menu only one meal to share so not too much hard work. Staff were completely ignorant, didn't care to check what was going on, the tone & manners were so bored & unbothered they might as well have just said meh don't care. Asked again after 35 minutes I think it was, this time to be told that the food had only just been put on. Another table come in after & somehow they got their meals first but not their children's so could see them complaining as well. My partner after asking a third time & the staff at that point being so unbothered in the end just asked for a refund but as it was through the app I just got a receipt saying void. Money hasn't been refunded still as of writing this. When I come out was reading the reviews & similar stuff about wait time & staff being rude & unbothered but what confuses me the most is every response to the bad reviews they have just said how they're aiming to improve or appreciating the feedback etc. Well if you can see not just one or two but SEVERAL reviews stating these issues why not fix the problem? Clearly no one is aiming to improve anything or even care about the negative feedback, instead they probably just think because people holiday there or have beach days there it's okay they'll make money still. That's if they are making any because over 35 minutes, asking several times to be met with rude unbothered responses & on a day barely any orders are there on their screen & barely anyone in the place - I fail to see how money...

Seemed to be a popular place to go, and it soon got busy. There were only 2 lads serving behind the bar, they could have done with some help, either that or worked a bit quicker. I didn't use the toilets, but my partner said there were 3 flights of stairs to get to them, which isn't very 'convenient' to say the least. A small bottle of Appletise was £3.35 which was only £1 less than a pint of Carlsberg, that's a ridiculous price for a soft drink that is only about 300ml when a full 750ml bottle only costs £3.50 in the likes of Tesco. When our food arrived, which was a good price, £8.99, for fish and chips and mushy peas, I was somewhat bemused to see that our fish supper was served on a piece of red and white checked greaseproof type paper, on a cold plate. And there were just about a spoonful of mushy peas, that soon went cold. If I had wanted to eat my food off paper I could have had a takeaway at home or gone and had a picnic somewhere. And the tartare sauce was served in those little paper cups you used to put your sauce in at MacDonalds, that very quickly went soggy and really didn't look very nice sitting on the plate. So that did disappoint me, I guess it's a pub thing, but I have never had my food served on greaseproof, that then ended up with the cold grease from the food sitting on it. The majority of the places to eat were all themed and very noisy and open to the cold with a lot of tables and chairs outside. So we went in the Jolly fisherman as it looked nice and it was warm inside. We would go again, I think, but I wouldn't have the same food or drink, probably a drink on tap which they can't charge so much for, and some crisps and sandwiches, which could be served on paper on a cold plate, no problem, to get a better experience...
