The food was ok although the chips looked well done. The staff seemed to have a bit of an attitude when they were asked if they could wipe our table as it was sticky. Their answer was when we get a moment as we are busy (there was about 4 tables occupied) They did come over and do it but still seemed to have an attitude about it. The floor was littered with sauce wrappers n stirrers also food under the tables n the one we were sitting at (which we didn't notice until after we had ordered the food) There was 2staff on and they didn't seem to be working as a team and as they saw a que waiting at the bar to order food they didn't apologize for the wait or the other member of staff didn't come on the till to serve. We've been here for over hour and no floors have been swept. Also while serving another table staff slopped the sauce from the gravy boat and she was more concerned about some of it had gone on her shoe rather what had landed on the floor n didn't come and clean up the spillage which could have been a slip hazard. Also the staff seemed more interested in chatting to eachother rather to customers, they didn't even tell the customers in the que that they would be with them shortly as they walked past the que from the bar to take drinks and food to the tables. None of the staff were wearing masks. We happened to speak with the manager who we was unaware that she was when we asked about exception of wearing masks from the staff she was extremely rude to us for asking about it n said that we had no right to enquire about it. We explained that we had the right to ask (as several members of our party has serious health conditions) and also we all work with vunable clients she was extremely rude and stormed off for a manager this is totally unacceptable behaviour towards customers When we phoned the next day too we was told by the manageress very rudely (again like the night before when we enquired) that the local council had allowed them to not wear masks cos of how hot it got in there. When we were there the temperature of the restaurant was comfortable it didn't feel unbearably warm at all. The manageress could not get us off the phone quick enough saying is that all. Management considering a manager should be the person who is setting an example to their staff on customer service and people skills she was extremely rude shouting at us didn't apologize for anything that we brought up. Plus her story changed for the reason to why they wasn't wearing masks from the time that we was in there and when we phoned up the next day so wondering which one is true if any??? If I or any of my family had spoken to anyone who was in our workplace like how she had spoken to us then we would have been in trouble about it. Maybe she needs to have more training in customer service and communication skills and anger management???? I've include photos of the state of the floor- we were in there for over an hour and it really was NOT busy and no-one had swept the floor

I Took my wife and grand daughter in for a carvery. The upstairs carvery and bar had young staff and a manager that took ages to serve the people waiting to order .Then the carvery queue was building up and customers getting frustrated with the wait T The staff were still not serving for a good 15 minutes , eventually a young lady appeared and started to start to carve the meats which was obvious that she not slicing the meat properly or the knife was blunt and all the meats she carved broke up just like pulled pork. the meats we had was dry tasteless. Roasts potato’s dry, carrots dry. We started to eat but it was so awful I stopped complained to the young female duty manager. I showed her the quality of the food we’re were served . She agreed to refund two out of the three carvery’s, but not my wife’s, because she had started to eat the Yorkshire pudding but nothing else. It’s the worst expensive carvery experience I have ever had, customer experience we had was not good and whilst we sat at our table we heard two other customers complaining I I won’t be going back,, or recommending it my friends or family.

Came to skegness for a family weekend away, jumped into this place for some breaky as it was the first restaurant we came across after parking up first thing in the morning. When we came to order we was told that they couldn't make a simple bacon sandwich (even thought they served breakfast with bacon on and bread) found this very annoying and it was such a simple request. When it came to order drinks the coffee was cold and didnt taste very nice, my partner asked for a coke zero which they had behind the bar in bottles, but was told she could only have what came out of the tap, so she settled for a normal coke whick was flat as a pancake. We ordered 4 portions of jam on toast as this is what the kids wanted, it all came on one plate and after asking for a few extra plates so the kids could spead the butter and jam, they never actually turn up. Overall the experience was not very good at all and we definitely will not be coming back. The staff were not very help full at all and didnt seem to want to be working here. If I could rate zero stars i would have.

Where do I even start...we entered the building and the place was like a bomb site, some empty tables but all of which were filthy or had people's used glasses and plates on them, nobody was clearing up. After finding a table and cleaning it ourselves.

We decided to go and order a carvery for four of us but after seeing the carvery food whilst joining the 20 minute queue for the bar, decided against it and ordered fish and chips for us all. The carvery food looked awful. The meats were dried up and the only vegetables there were carrots and cabbage (the cabbage was going brown).

After finally ordering, we couldn't help but just sit and observe what was going on around us. Food being taken to all tables because the staff didn't know which tables had ordered what, customers sending food back because it was cold or wrong - staff then sticking their fingers in the food to check the temperature and then warming it up in a microwave before delivering the same food they'd just stuck their fingers in back to the table. Staff behind the counter clearing plates and literally throwing cutlery in to a bucket and throwing plates on to a pile making a complete racket.

Upon noticing other people's drinks, we decided to ask a member of staff if we had large soft drinks like we'd asked for (our glasses seemed smaller) to which she said they were small but we'd have to sort that at the bar - the queue was still huge so we didn't bother. But either way £4.50 for a coke that wasn't even real coke or pepsi was extortionate, even if it had been a large.

Whilst observing the chaos around us, we waited, and we waited, and we waited some more for our food (during which time multiple plates of food were just sat under heat lamps or in the dumbwaiter from downstairs, just going cold and dried up. Eventually our food did turn up, the fish was overcooked and hard, the chips were cold, the mushy peas (which they charge £2 extra for!!) were cold. We were that hungry we just put up with it, I mean what would've been the point of complaining, the staff didn't seem to know what was going on anyway - they were either too busy standing around having a natter or arguing over plates of food that had been sent back.

The management need to seriously reconsider what they're doing with this place. If you can't manage you workload then stop offering so much. Cut the menu back? Ditch the carvery? Just do something because your establishment is absolutely appalling and your food is rubbish. Find something you can do well and stick to it. Also, maybe consider offering your staff some training, basic food hygiene would be a good start.

I will never, ever return to this place, it's a...

This was one of the worst meals at the most extortionate prices with the worst service I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Over £60 for 2 cod and chips and a sharing platter, 2 cokes and 2 lagers. The sharing platter would be a meal for one at best or a shared starter for two. My other half looked at me when it came to the table and was chucked at us and asked 'where's the calamari'......we discovered it to be one ring that had been cut into four and overcooked so badly that each piece resembled something akin to a burnt batter marble with a blob of chewing gum in the middle. Totally inedible. The cod was cooked in old oil which made the batter dark and the fish dry and unpleasant to eat leaving a horrible aftertaste. In addition to this, if it was supposed to be a 'large' as was ordered, it certainly did a good impersonation of being a small in comparison to some of the other large cod we have had before at other establishments!! Certainly wouldn't have been a captain birdseye recomendation, more of a Jack Sparrow in the literal sense. The staff have no hospitality skills whatsoever and seemed incredibly demotivated and unenthusiastic. A shame really but at the same time, they are in HOSPITALITY and should at least pretend to be HOSPITABLE!! Manners and a smile don't cost anything. Service is definitely not with a smile, nice word or welcoming.....It would !have made the dining experience semi bearable if at least the staff were nice as the food certainly wasn't! A real shame as I am sure it's not always like this and we may have just caught it on an off day.........still......No excuse and definitely not one we'd go back to for a...
