I hadn’t visited Skegness for around 20 years and it’s mostly as I remembered it, I’d say cleaner this time around and some of the stores and arcades have improved.
I didn’t realise the Jolly Fisherman is actually a mascot of Skegness and the poster created by artist John Hassall in 1908 is associated with the original success of this seaside town.
Parking is fairly limited, blue badge holders still have to pay but can stay double the time they pay for.

Read moreThe landmark for the centre of Skeg, with shops, pubs and food outlets. 100 yards to the promenade and beach. Looks amazing when lit up during the evening. Lots of work has been done in the area to clean it up after years of neglect. There is all of the usual seaside amenities, car parks and shops within walking distance. Lots of things for kids to do, a spotless beach that is raked daily. The main beach is dog free from Easter until 30th September, but dogs are allowed on the beach south of the clock all year around, there are penalties for fouling. This was late at night so we opted to try the clock tower was not disappointed chips and fish fresh cooked and to all you nay sayers to gravy n curry sauce we had both... Curry sauce just like proper Chinese curry sauce yum.... Gravy well best I have had from a chippy was tasty not bland and you could stand your spoon in it so well worth the travel from Ingoldmells to skeggy and will def recommend and use again...
