We used to visit this restaurant quite often before and just after covid and we really liked it. I have to be honest after tonight's visit I doubt we will be returning.
Firstly the food was really good but the service was abysmal!! We ordered our food with a side of chips we wasn't offered any condiments like the tables to each side of us for them.
Not once were we checked on to make sure our food was okay.
We weren't offered any further drinks either however, yet again the tables to each side of us was.
We was asked if we wanted desert and after choosing an ice cream I was asked how many scoops I would like. I replied by asking how many do you offer? to which I was given a very sarcastic reply which after the service we had received so far nearly made me get up and leave there and then.
Again nobody checked to see if everything was okay with our deserts or if we would like anything else so we hurried to finish our meal, paid and left.
Let me be clear the older gentleman was being polite to everyone, the young female as well but the older female who we first met at the bar upon arrival needs retraining on how to speak to people.
We are local and unfortunately now we will be looking to dine out elsewhere as clearly our money isn't good enough...

Taken in conjunction with the friendliness and humour of the owner/host (to jog his memory we had a conversation about Hawaiian shirts) I can be measured about the down side. The overcooked stuffed peppers starter had a burnt surface for which the chef apologised saying it was not removed for fear of disturbing the remainder. Being burned meant however that the remainder had no texture and was more of a Bolognese in a bowl than anything else. I was served by a young member of staff for drinks and for the offer of ground pepper. Regrettably she was unable to remove the drinks from the serving tray herself, leaving me to do it for her, and neither was she able to use the pepper grinder. This was due to the gloriously pretty but completely impracticable nails she was sporting. If you are offered ground pepper in an Italian themed eatery would you expect to do it yourself? No, I thought not. One for me to revisit in due course and in the meantime I wish their...
Β Β Β Read moreThere are several Italian restaurants in this area and by looking at the pictures and driving past this one looked lovely. We booked and when we arrived the front of house gentleman was very polite and seated us straight down. I can only describe the restaurant as a little Aladdinβs cave it was beautifully decorated and to be able to watch the chief cook our food was the icing on the cake. We had previously looked at the menu online and when we got there there was an updated menu with one of the dishes we wanted not on it. We asked if it was still possible to order it and he said no problem. The food was amazing and the service was excellent with a very friendly atmosphere, the portions were extremely generous and was even given a doggy bag to take our left overs home. Will definitely be going back...
