Myself and my partner were really looking forward to trying the food here. When we arrived, we were greeted quite pleasantly and shown to our table, the host took our drinks order and told us to go up whenever we were ready. My partner and I were just chatting away and waiting for our drinks and when the host turned up with them he again told us we can go up and get food? It made us feel like we had to go up there and then! A bit too abrasive and made us feel a little uncomfortable. Next, the food was a HUGE disappoint, quality and choice wise, it was a huge let down. The salt and pepper chicken was literally just frozen Nuggets with a bit of salt and pepper thrown on and they were ridiculously rubbery! The chicken satay again was just frozen processed chicken cubes, really watery and actually tasted nothing like chicken satay! There was not even a hint of peanut in the sauce and it tasted more like standard curry sauce than anything. The Cantonese noodles were very very bland. The samosas tasted exactly the same as the spring rolls which was strange. And to be honest, there just wasn't much choice. Nearly all the meat in the oriental section was chicken and after tasting 2 of the dishes and being extremely disappointed, we decided to not even bother with the others. There were only 2 pizzas available, pepperoni and margarita, which isn't a massive issue as they are what people normally want. However the margarita was lovely, really fresh and piping hot. The pepperoni you could tell had been sat there for ages, was cold, undercooked and the pepperoni just looked raw! The selection of deserts just looked like cheap cheese cakes from aldi, cut into cubes and put into a case and we never actually got to try any as someone was supposed to be serving them and there was no one at the station the entire time we were there. Finally, we ended up sitting after finishing our food for nearly 20 minutes just waiting for someone to give us the bill but no one ever came and it was not made clear at any point if someone would be coming to us so we could pay or if we had to find someone? In the end I just went to the bar and paid. The whole thing was very underwhelming, the food was not to a decent standard and the staff were either too eager or seemed to not care? The place has a lot of potential and I hope they make improvements for the future! Definitely not worth the...
Read moreThey took a reservation for 16 people but were unable to fulfil it anywhere near on time and left us all stood outside blocking the pavement. They just said that we would have to wait until the previous people had finished drinking after their meal. They would not ask them to leave or carry on drinking outside after they had finished even when it was pointed out that some of were going straight to the airport after our meal and could not wait all night. They also had not informed us when the reservation was made that they were not serving alcohol. They tried to claim that it is a breach of Covid regulations. Simply not true. We have had quite a few meals out recently with no problems at all with alcohol. They then tried to say it is because they are not full table service but I pointed that it is no different to a carvery we had a few days before. It is mot possible to serve alcoholic drinks but they can serve non alcoholic - it is rubbish, they just can't be bothered looking after the bar for fewer people. They also insisted that the 16 of us had to all wear masks to go for our meals and could only go one table at a time when we were instructed but the table next to us could come and go backwards and rewards as they wished and WITHOUT MASKS but they were black and mixed race so they could do as they liked and anther table of people who appeared to be regulars/ known to the staff and, again, could do as they wished. It really is typical Skegness, it is who you know nit what you know and anyone who is a " minority " can ignore the regulations because the management are too weak to challenge. I strongly recommend that this...
Read moreLiterally just left this place and felt the need to leave a review this soon! Visited Sunday 25th May, table booked for 5.30pm.... Absolutely spot on 👌 Given it was prime time on a Sunday, it wasn't absolutely crammed and there was still plenty of room.
We had the carvery and everything was lovely. The meat was cooked lovely and the sides were all great with plenty to choose from, definitely more on offer than your typical main chain places! Love the fact you can actually go back for more meat too!
Absolute bonus being the all you can eat pizza and pasta etc too! The pizza was absolutely phenomenal, all made fresh and straight from pizza oven to plate! Chicken nuggets, chips, beans, garlic bread was all great too! Chip shop curry sauce, gravy, apple sauce... Honestly I can not complain about the food what so ever and for £12.50 per adult, £6.25 per child under 10 you 100% can't go wrong.
We're currently visiting Skegness at the park dean resort and would happily eat here every night instead of at the resort! Absolutely gutted we don't have anywhere like this near us as I'm sure we'd be there all the time!
It was that good, we're planning to return this week for the all you can eat breakfast!
The genuine only negative I have which is minor, is we ordered 3 x large lemonades that were £3 each I believe, they were all completely flat. I reported this to the waitress and she took them back and replaced them stating the gas must have ran out, however the ones we received back were also just as flat unfortunately. Again, it's a minor but just thought I'd add that in! Definitely hasn't ruined our...
