This was my first time at Bella Italia, but it most certainly won't be my last. I'm a vegetarian coeliac, which usually severely limits my options. I don't enjoy dining out because not only do I usually not have many options but I feel so awkward and I anxiously imagine the staff must hate me. But I thoroughly enjoyed eating here from the second I walked in to the second I left.
There were more choices on the menu than I've had at any other restaurant, especially Italian restaurants. The very first thing they asked was if I had any allergies they should know about or dietary requirements. After placing my order my partner checked the app and was worried that they had forgotten to make my burger gluten free. The staff were more than happy to double check, in fact they triple checked.
Everything was delicious, the cocktails and mocktails are also a must try and the staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating.
I can't wait to go back!
Edit: Our second visit 3 weeks later could not have gone better. The staff remembered us and although I suspect it's because we are such awkward eaters they certainly didn't make us feel that way. We had the same very warm greeting as we did the first time. Tried another cocktail and it was even better than the first and so well presented! There was also a sign at the front saying they were short staffed and apologised for any delays, of which there were none. This will be our monthly date night venue going forward and I can't wait for...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant following an afternoon at the cinema. We were greeted and seated very quickly and asked immediately if anyone had an allergies, which impressed me as I do. Our server Richard also asked who had the allergy and what it was when he came over. We opted for the set menu which was very good value for money and enough options. Food served in a decent time and was very tasty and generous portions. I don't always like eating at chains of restaurants like this as previous experience I've had middle of the road, production line food. However, this certainly wasn't the case here. My gluten free brushetta with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese was plentiful, beautifully presented and very tasty. I had GF chicken Cacciatore which was fabulous. My daughter had garlic doughballs and spaghetti carbonara,my husband had a starter of ciabatta and meatballs and main if Funghi cream pasta. One Coke, water and beer the bill came to£50. The male and female toilets were spotless,as was the restaurant and each table was thoroughly cleaned between client's. Richard our server was very engaging, especially when my disabled daughter spoke to him.He even remembered her name on leaving. A wonderful experience, excellent customer service, fabulous food and lovely clean and very nice restaurant. Definitely recommend and will...
Read moreJust want to start by saying I’ve only gave this a two star because the food was some what decent but everything else on the other hand was shocking . There are 0 management skills in this place . The lack of customer service in this restaurant is unbelievable the worst I’ve received for some while . A young blonde member of staff came over too take the drinks order and was very rude and snappy not just on one occasion but for the third time at this point I requested for another member of staff too come take my order as she was far from professional, this young girl then proceeded to make her point and stand at the end of the table arguing with several members of my family. Not just one of us thought her service was appalling and didn’t want too carry on ,it was all of us. I’ve worked waitressing myself in the past too know this is unacceptable. Following this the manager now comes over too take our order and not once did she address the situation or apologise for what just happened instead she come over acting all awkward and just said “ drinks” . This shows the lack of management skills , As the paying customer I feel the way we was treated was appalling I think the staff need more training and need to understand the whole point of there job and a role in customer service because . I would never...
