GiZli — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Don’t think I’ll be returning here again to be honest. Ordered the mix lamb and chicken with pilau rice and it was literally 95% rice and 5% meat (not enough meat for a £7 meal in my opinion) so I felt scammed in a way. Not to mention the food was verging on being cold and definitely not warm enough. Decided to finish the meal with some lokmas as I remember them being quite nice the last time I came but they arrived colder than the actual food. However, it was nice of them to give me two more lokmas than I asked with no extra charge (I asked for 6 and they gave me 8). The only thing I really enjoyed in my meal was the Turkish tea (which I’ll admit was also complimentary). I would have mentioned this to the staff members but not a single person approached our table to ask us if everything was okay with our meal (thought this was common courtesy in restaurants) so I wasn’t going to go out of my way to mention it to them. They were MUCH nicer to us the last time we came (this was when they had just recently opened…). Not a great experience...

Visited today with family was served by Adam and Malika. Was recommended to come here and try the mac n cheese (extra hot) by another staff member Hana... and just WOW alhumdulilah it was amazing!! Very filling and delicious! The fries were extremely tasty too, crispy on the outside soft in the middle, perfect blend of herbs and spices and non-greasy! The sauces provided in tubs were irresistible too!

As it was late the kids begun getting restless and Adam very kindly gave us a small free desert which was an amazing act of kindness! Your staff are incredible, you can really sense the family atmosphere here alhumdulilah it's really beautiful to see. We're so appreciative of this gesture, it shows how far your staff are willing to go for their customers!

Atmosphere 10/10, customer service 10/10, food 10/10 this place will or has put burton on the map!

Definitely the best food in Burton. I went tonight and dine in with my family. We had, The Classic, that is the best donner I ever taste so far, not dry at all, the whole mix inside was soft and creamy, delicious 😊. My daughter, that is certainly picky with food, had the same thing and she said, that is the best food that she ever had, I was very pleased. The fresh home made baklava and the small doughnuts with cream and fruits are a dream, making a difference from the usual dessert that you get in most of the restaurants on the market. The Hoummous with mix meat and warm sesame Turkish bread is also a must to, is absolutely delicious😀.All the team that took care of us, was very nice and the atmosphere very warm, making you feel like home😊 I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the food menu😎 I would give them more than 5 stars ⭐️ if I could, for the the delicious food and the great ...
