Rivaj Indian Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Experience from 18/9/21 Arrived at restaurant 7.45pm for table booked at 8pm . It was very busy people standing inside and outside waiting for takeaways my husband went in asked if our table was ready no one to speak to for a few minutes to busy on the phones taking takeaway orders HELLO!! what about the people you have booked in waiting in your restaurant this was not a good start . There were two spare tables was told neither one of them was ours went back outside to wait as nowhere to sit more people now waiting for takeaways my husband went in again at 8pm asked if the table was ready we were asked to wait till two people had finished their meal I dont think so when two tables sat empty . The only conclusion I can come to is GREED doing to many takeaways instead of concentrating on the people you have already booked in waiting for meals. REAL shame because our last visit was excellent food and service wont visit again if that's how they want to run things .PERHAPS YOU SHOULD JUST...

Booked a table for a party of 8 of us several days in advance for 7:30, rang 2 hours before the booking to add another person and seemed an inconvenience to them as was told the table had already been set up but they would sort it but asked us to arrive at 7:45 only to be waiting 10 minutes longer on arrival with no table set up for us as they had given our booking to other guests and told us they would ring us when the table was available - they called us at 8:50! Nearly an hour and 30 minutes later than when we booked for. Absolutely atrocious! Also had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get our food. When we expressed our disappointment staff showed a couldn’t care less attitude and simply said “what can we do sir, we’re very busy” needless to say we won’t be returning there. Completely...

We are regular weekly customers either in the restaurant or takeaways and are always more than happy with service & food. However we had a takeaway tonight and after the usual 1hr & half wait (which we don’t mind as always look forward to the food) half of our order was missing. 2 starters missing and a rice. Rang up to explain and they sent the missing items however the main portion of chicken chaat came with a chapatti which we didn’t ask for, meaning the curry had no sauce and only a few bits of chicken compared to usual. Feeling slightly disappointed as usually service is brilliant, as is the food. We used a part voucher and part cash we was given from a family member and feel a bit let down as we always really look forward...
