The Blacksmiths Arms — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Having grown up in the village, this place was my local and a part of my life for a long time.

Sadley, since Tom & Sean took over, I only ever feel welcomed by Sean.

Tom does not like children and is very abrupt and rude. By children, I can only give an opinion on 10-year-olds who sit quietly and play. They are NOT disruptive kids, and if you couldn't see them, you wouldn't know they were there.

At 815pm, a group of 9 of us (5 adults, 4 children) left an event held next door and decided to go for a quick half at the pub before walking back home.

At the bar, we were told firmly no kids after 9pm. Plenty of time for a quick drink, much to the annoyance of the bar maid, we all got drinks and the kids sat quietly in a corner The bar side wasn't busy and they weren't in the way or being disruptive.

One parent went to collect pizza at 855 to take home whilst we finished up our drinks.

A few minutes later they returned with it so we could all walk together.

We didn't realise it was 9.03pm. Tom marched towards and was very rude, He bellowed at us, "You can bring that in here, no kids after 9pm, leave now".

There was no polietness, his body language was confrontational and made us all feel totally uncomfortable and unwelcome.

We were all shocked at how we were spoken to. we left promptly and had to assure the kids on the way home that they had done nothing wrong, and it wasn't their fault

We were already packing up to leave when Tom came over to us. There was no politeness about the situation, and I have never felt more...

This review represents a coach party of 41. We were looking for a venue where we could all have a meal together enroute near to the A38. From the enquiry stage forward the service was excellent. The booking was easy and efficient, with helpful welcoming staff. Despite getting held up in traffic en route which necessitated telephoning to say that we would arrive approx. 1 hour late, the efficient, friendly, helpful service could not have been better and they were in no way phased. When we arrived and seated with drinks, the food came out for the whole party hot and was very much enjoyed by all. Even the 'locals customers' at the bar were friendly. All in all, it was an excellent find for 'decent pub grub' and all credit to the staff for coping with a large group so efficiently. All 41 of us would all...

What a dive..... evidence of drug use in the ladies, and I counted at least 4 people who were definitely under aged and weren't challenged for I.D . 2 of them were actually served by the land lady who appeared to know them by the banter. Last orders was also 20 mins late being called and I object to my glassbeing taken when it still has a drink in it. And to top it all there was a couple having sex on the car...
