Stopped in for an early lunch, had the Thai Chicken Curry, while my partner had the Minute Steak and fries which she ordered as a medium. Both were delicious, possibly THE best curry I have had when eating out. A credit to the chef. Washed it down with a bottle of 0.5% Speckled Hen - the combination is fantastic, leaving a lovely post-lunch glow that is hard to find in your average pub. The Atmosphere is lively and The Anchor happily caters for families and groups, but booking early is advised. Staff are friendly, fast and attentive. The location, opposite the cinema and waterfront or a quick walk up into town, is optimally placed. Look no further for a lunch date to set you up for the day ahead.🍛🍻👏

Visited here on a busy Saturday evening and enjoyed one of the tastiest burgers I've had in a long time. Service was swift and friendly even though the place was packed. They have seating outside at the front and a more secluded area at the side. It was great to sit outside on a warm summer evening but it also looked like it would be cosy inside if the weather wasn't quite so warm. Will definitely be back for another burger!

Just popped off the train as this pub is located right outside, Our group went here for a swift pint or two we myself and my other half. Very nice pint of Estrella and Birra Moretti, the service was quick and priced fairly reasonable for the area. Very relaxed and a lovely atmosphere. With lovely atmosphere around. Very centrally located and right opposite the station as mentioned

I was recommended to visit here by one of my friends that said ’ it’s such a nice place and the food is amazing!’. Well I can confirm that both of them statements are 100% true. It was our 7th anniversary and wanted to christen our memories with something special so I booked a table for two at 7. The atmosphere from outside sounded like we was in a scene from a romantic film and then we went inside and felt that great pub atmosphere and feeling something about tonight. The staff were all so polite, warm and welcoming and we was treated so well. The menu has just enough to give a selection without being too busy making it hard to choose something. My fiancée had the burger (which looked amazing) and I had the sirloin steak (blue - of course) and was absolutely in heaven with the huge serving of peppercorn sauce that came in a jug which was well enough for the big chunky lovely chips and the huge steak. The steak was so nicely caramelised on the outside with charred bits it was just absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it. We felt full so decided not to have afters but managed to accidentally order two white chocolate cheesecakes completely by accident and we had to eat them as they had brought them over after ordering them completely by accident by mistake without meaning to (yeh roight) which were bloody gorgeous.

In short the pub is a nice setting and we were comfortable the whole time (2 1/2 hours) the staff were all working hard but made it look easy and the food is to be tried without a doubt. Absolutely 10/10 and thank you for such a lovely evening we had just...

We suggested we meet our friends there from Maldon yesterday for lunch, the place was cold, we were the only people in the restaurant area, the service was ok and the whitebait starter was good. But the Tai Chicken Curry was awful, the chicken was inedible, when we told the waitress she said, oh well we use the thigh meat!!! (not the breast?) The two wives couldn't eat it and it was sent back. We were then offered 50% off the cost of the Curry, but weren't offered anything else, the girls didn't want to make a fuss so it was accepted. We men had the fish and chips, which was just about OK, but nothing to rave about. We obviously wont be going back there again, and as we live in Framlingham i will be reluctant now to go again to their other pubs, the White Horse at Easton and the Duck at Campsea Ashe. A great shame as i understand they still run the Table in Quay St, which we used to go to a lot and had some really lovely...

I've been here twice, a few weeks apart. The first time, the food was pretty good and I had no problem returning for future meals.

The second time ensured I will probably never eat here again. I ordered a "crispy tofu burger" from that day's specials. Picking up the burger immediately caused it to just disintegrate into several pieces as all the fillings just dripped out all over the plate. The "burger" was five or six small chunks of very soft tofu, and not crispy at all. They tasted like they'd been boiled for 2 minutes and sloppily thrown into a bun with some sauce. The fries were so skinny they had literally no filling, but were the only things on the plate to provide a crispy texture. The salad was drowned in a dressing I personally found very sickly, so couldn't enjoy that either. It was overall a miserable eating experience, having to merely scrape "burger" debris up with a fork in an effort to get some of my...
