The Grand — Restaurant in East Suffolk

checked it out for first time on a Saturday night. Probably the most miserable and unwelcoming door staff I've ever encountered. Did not feel welcome and all after entering as felt constantly monitored,totally dead until stupidly late. Not even frisked at door which is bizarre. Bar staff friendly if not looking abit bored upstairs. Floor uneven and a massive step which you can't even see downstairs .I will have to try during the day because the night is a massive pass. I've put the food at a five as we did not eat. Possibly the worst night scene I have been to in this country in the last 25 years I'm afraid to say If there was another,it would most certainly be closed, probably still going from the day events.Hopefully It will improve in the future. I find it interesting how it's only £5 to enter yet there so many staff. It looks like a cash hemorrhage waiting to happen if it is not...

Thank you for such an amazing afternoon with elsa my daughter enjoyed herself so much. Even down to staff finding her some blue tac as she was sensory seeking i really appreciate all your hard work and how you put thought down to the little details, I honestly can't thank you enough ❤️ i highly recommend the grand not only as a good night out but also for the themed lunches (food is amazing)they do for the children and community, we have been to many of the children's events the grand organised, they put alot of time effort and thought into what they do, the staff are amazing and will go above and beyond to cater to your needs, its so nice to have something in Felixstowe younger children can attend and have fun. I can't praise Becky and the staff at the Grand enough!! We hosted our twin girls 13th birthday party there and was blown away what an amazing night it was. I paid extra for balloon package which was an arch, columns and table top ones. We had a DJ and 2 security to ensure the kids had a fantastic evening, I also gave out a drinks token to our guest which they could either have a mocktail or a can of fizzy, just say the blue lagoons went down a treat. The feedback from the kids that were invited when is the next one! So thank you Becky and your team for making our girls 13th birthday party at night to remember. I would definitely recommend this venue if you want to host a party...
