Kessa cafe located close to the beach and had a delightful experience. The ambiance of the cafe was warm and inviting, with a comfortable seating arrangement and a soothing decor that made me feel relaxed and at home. The highlight of my visit was the Afghani tea, which was brewed to perfection and had a unique blend of spices that left a lingering taste on my palate. It was the perfect drink to warm me up on a cold day. I also tried the Indian veg biryani, which was fragrant, flavorful, and packed with wholesome vegetables. The portion size was generous, and the dish was well-presented, making it a treat for both my eyes and taste buds. The staff at the cafe was exceptional, they were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist me with anything I needed. They had an in-depth knowledge of the menu and were able to provide valuable recommendations that enhanced my dining experience.

Café with books!!!!! Very friendly service and great food/drinks. We had the iced mocha, banana coconut shake as well as the pistacho/chocolate twist and a piece of carrot cake and all of it was delicious. The large iced mocha was indeed quite large! One of my favorite parts was that there are a few large shelves heaped with books - you can take them for a small donation fee that you leave as cash in a box by the register. I got the two in the photo in absolutely pristine condition! The café has a few Afghan-inspired foods on the menu as well which makes it even more unique.

Best biryani, full of flavours and beautifully cooked. Lentil or chickpea dhal are great; less spicy, but extremely tasty vegetarian option. Lots of other dishes I cannot wait to try. Nice coffee and great selection of teas and non caffeinated hot drinks. Super friendly family owner and staff. Great vibe with books to read and games to play. A little gem of a cafe that deserves to be tried. You won’t be disappointed. A great and welcome addition to Eastbourne. Thank you for your warm welcome and delicious home cooked food. I love it!

When I saw the name I knew this place felt familiar. Having lived in Hastings previously for a number of years and frequenting the kassa cafe in st Leonard’s I was very excited to see a sister one here in Eastbourne.

I was NOT disappointed!!

I have been a couple times with friends now and my new born baby and the staff have been so accommodating.

I’ve tried the Afghan byriani and combo plater. Both great and I enjoyed a lot. They have great coffee and shakes.

The Mango is a must try!

It’s now my go to in Eastbourne as with having a baby there is space and they accommodate and the food is right up my street.

Highly...

The staff of two are very friendly and efficient. Food was served as quickly as possible as all our dishes were freshly prepared. The lamb biryani was really good, tender meat, very tasty Afghan rice ,(with sultanas,). As I don't like very spicy food, I had the raita as an accompanying dish to cool my mouth. My husband had samosa & salad. There were two large , well filled samosa and he had the aubergine & pitta as a side. His drink was the Afghan black tea. I have known the propriprietess for many years, but this was our first visit to Kessa. We will be returning again soon. Thank you...
