Came across The Stop by chance last year when up that end of town and wanted a drink and cake and so glad I did . The owners Adriana and Luis are so friendly and welcoming , they listen to customers and are very interested in feedback whether good or bad to see how popular something is or anything they can improve on . The cafe is situated in town centre near the station and a bus lane and they open early to provide customers before they set off to work or a trip somewhere and close mid afternoon . A lot of the food is freshly cooked by them so can be adapted to suit your needs . They now serve all day breakfasts , other foods like toasties , panini , omelettes , soup etc can be purchased as well as home made cakes and recently teacakes have been added to their menu . Usual drinks both hot and cold available The cafe is kept clean and the owners work hard with Luis cooking the food and Adriana taking the orders and serving the food . They have tables outside on the pavement as well as inside and you can eat in or take away . I visit reguarly when in town either in my own or...
Read morePopped in before catching the bus to a few people sat under the sheltered area on the tables and chairs offered, was welcomed warmly by the server and chef, asked what the lady would recommend for on the go to which she said a small square bacon pastry, which having worked as a chef I have to say was exquisite! The pastry was perfectly cooked and flaky but not too flaky to the point of crumbling, the perfect texture! The chef told me he is in making the pastries fresh every morning! I then asked if they had any bottles of Coke rather then a can, to which I was told unfortunately not however, they did have a in store made iced tea which other clients came in daily to pick up! There was only peach and lemon flavours so I went for lemon and it was beautiful! A perfect replacement for what I was looking for! And it all only came to £4.70!! Will be back soon and recommend anyone interested to venture into this cozy...
Read moreGreat new café! Super friendly staff, spotlessly clean, excellent coffee and awesome value. I have now been back to this cafe twice in one day-I was so impressed the first time so came back for lunch a couple of hours later. The home made vegetable soup was delicious and I also had a truly excellent tuna salad, rich with lovely olives, and a variety of greens. I wasn't hungry but couldn't resist trying the desserts. They are to die for: try the crème caramel and the tiramisu-both family recipes with none of the 'processed and synthetic' flavours that you sometimes find. The tiramisu was so light: just the right blend of mascarpone and sugar. I could go on. Just try it for yourself! I look forward to working my way through the menu - the quality of the ingredients and the care that's taken in cooking is really obvious. Thank you for making Dennis my little French Bulldog so...
