Staff were friendly and chatty but service was slow, we had to ask to order as we were sitting there for a while even tried closing the menu so they could see we were ready but did not come over until they were called, we had ordered starters which they found out they were out of yakitori which was fine but they recommended something else instead of offering us the menu to look we did not want to have to call them over again so just went with their recommendation not nothing about it, they then brought out our starters which was lovely but no drinks so again we had to remind them of this.
The food itself was lovely, good quality and quantity, but again the staff let it down it was only us and one other table of 3 men, we didn't get asked once if we wanted more drinks and our plates were sitting there empty on the table for a while so we moved them to the end of table and nobody came to take them, the 2 male staff stood around talking or watching the tv and decided cleaning an empty table was more important then cleaning the table customers were sitting at.
We wanted some dessert and the staff were to busy sitting around to notice so I had to get up to call one over who came straight over and said did I want the bill obviously trying to get rid of us which I wish I did just go at this point but the people I was with were still hungry and it was late so we decided to stay for dessert.
The dessert food again was lovely but accompanied by our dirty dinner plates STILL sitting at the end of the table, one of the staff cleaned again another empty table where the three men sat and then finally cane over to take our plates away.
This was a difficult evening and it's happened once before which is why I hadn't gone back in a very long time so not sure i will ve returning at all, like I said the staff were friendly and the food was delicious but the service was horrible so i reccommend for people to go for the food but don't expect good...
Read moreI drove two hours to get here to treat myself on a Saturday night which I’d been looking forward to all week, and after waiting in the queue for nearly ten minutes and watching them seat people behind me who didn’t have a booking (as well as those who did) they finally looked at me and proceeded to immediately turn away because I was alone. I gently explained that I drove two hours and really wanted to eat here (and would probably spend more than two people as I was super hungry and wanted to take food home), but she did not care at all and told me to leave. I asked if I could just do takeout and she said no, it was too late at 7pm; which is not only absurd but directly contradicts the fact they were still accepting orders on deliveroo.
I waited outside figuring out what to do, fortunately a group of people saw this and let me sit with them. I sat down and looked at the menu and but was so disturbed by the staff’s behaviour that I could not bring myself to give them my service. The food at this point looked completely unappetising.
Utterly utterly disappointing that someone can treat a fellow human with such lack of empathy...
Read moreThis was my first korean restaurant a few months back, and as a returning customer I am now updatingy my review since they re-open under a new management now named AKA.
Differently from the previous management, i feel they focus more on sushi options and Bento trays. Since the re opening i have been a few times already and have tried different meals which are still the best of korean cuisine and the fact the clientele is mainly east asians, might mean they are good in what they do.
The only details i would change are: please play K-POP music as every time i was there you were playing other types of international musics that were making the whole experience less original, in my opinion of course! And please bring back the meat dishes as the beef bulgogi on its own as now is only included as part of the Bento tray... unless i have missed it from the menu?
Thanks for keep giving me great experiences with korean food so i can keep enjoying the flavours of food and drinks when eaten on K-dramas, which i watch...
