I can not say enough about this place or Michael the owner. We had the privileged of staying on Holy Island for Christmas which as you can imagine is the off season for everything on the Island. We were walking around Lindisfarne Sunday morning, two days before Christmas, looking for anything that would be open for breakfast. Some of the limited places on the island said they would be open on their websites, but this was probably more for the tourist season and not in winter. We got to the Post Office at the same time Michael did after he delivered the newspaper around town. He said they were closed and everything else was probably closed as well. But he would be open tomorrow. So we walked on looking for some other places. We had turned the corner and were about a block away when Michael comes chasing us down and said he would open up and fix us something. He knew we were on Holiday and wanted to make sure we got breakfast. We insisted he didn't have to as we had a car and it was low tide so we could get off the island, but he insisted more. So we went back with him and he fixed us breakfast. He made sure we knew he was the cook but we had a nice breakfast, made even better by the kindness of this man. He told us he would be open Monday so we should come back when the real cook is in. When we were done we tried to pay but he just told us to pay on Monday. So we went back on Monday, had and excellent breakfast and paid for our Sunday meal as well. Again, can't say enough about Michael's kindness and what he did for us. On top of that, the food was really good! If you ever get out to this beautiful island, make sure you grab something to eat at the Post...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreA dreadful experience today. If you need a gluten free diet please avoid this establishment.
It's clear from your response to my post that you do not act on feedback. I was sitting outside when I chose GF Homemade Soup from your menu. Your Specials board was inside and did not mention that the soup was not gluten free. I strongly suggest you change your laminated menu prior to offering it to customers. Further to that, my husband asked you to confirm that the soup was gluten free when he ordered it and he asked for gluten free bread to accompany it. I approached you as I saw what I thought was barley in my soup and you asked the kitchen staff to confirm whether the soup was gluten free. They advised you that it was not gluten free. Again, I suggest you revise your menu. Please listen to your customers before you hurt someone. I wish your business every success but I advise other customers to be careful. I'm not going to continue to recount our exchange unless...
