Overall was disappointed with our visit. Difficult to find parking. Had to park on the road across but had to drive around until a space became available. Doubt you would get a space in the summer. Access for disabled was good with a ramp off to the side. Didn’t see any steps inside which would have presented a barrier to anyone in a wheelchair. Disabled toilets looked dated and were quite tight for space and included one of the smallest sinks I have ever seen. Interior was large and nice and looked clean and well lit with plenty of options on where to sit. You had to go up to the counter to place your order. This proved a little time consuming and wouldn’t like to have to do this if they were really busy. They only had one person taking the orders. If anyone wanted a drink with that order then that same person left the till to get that drink. If they wanted a tea or one of the various coffees they do then the people behind had a long wait. I went for the Moby Dick, the extra large fish, at £14.90. My brother had the regular at £9.90. This came with a slice of bread and butter but sides were extra. I went for the curry sauce, my brother had the mushy peas. Both sides were priced at £1.50. When the food came there was no interaction at all with us from our server. Although the food was far from cold it wasn’t piping hot either. You expect fish n chips served in such an establishment to be freshly cooked and hot. The chips were ok. The fish far from the best I’ve had. And the curry sauce had a nice, initial taste but it just died on your tongue. There was no aftertaste or kick to it. No body came over at any stage to ask of everything was ok. In fact we had zero interactions with any staff other than paying for the meal at the counter and then them dropping it off at our table in total silence. It’s a shame really as it’s a lovely building inside. The range of cakes and sweets looked impressive but we opted to leave after finishing our meal. It’s unlikely we would visit again. There are other establishments in the area that we believe offer better food and...
Read moreFirst of all the place looks the same as it did before Covid, but that’s where it stops. I’m very sorry to say I was very disappointed tonight I took my nephew there who is 15-year-old 6 foot four tall so I went to the counter order. They were food eating chips and peas from myself fish chips for my nephew. He likes tartar sauce with his fish 20p a little packet which is a bit expensive never used to be like that only like 2 yards up two packets, so it was £.40? I don’t mind a 40p but I do when you pay £8.95 for what was a fishfinger sorry I’ll start again on that one half a fishfinger with some cute chips but the rest were raw. The peas came on his plate. He doesn’t like peas so I had to move onto mine. My pudding with a warm, not hot lukewarm. Am I cheat for mediocre under the top chips of my nephews, the rest were raw couldn’t eat them. I sent a picture of his tea to his father my brother I need for me up there, so I think you’ll need to take him somewhere else because that won’t be anywhere near enough for him, which I already knew, so I took him somewhere else and Phil filled him up. Both myself and my brother have worked in catering for many many years. My brother a head chef on the menu. It says 5 ounces of fish who is nowhere near 5 ounces of fish if you are lucky, very lucky you might of got to make don’t tell us we don’t know how to measure things because we’ve been working on it too long. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have a lot of friends who ask me where to go in Blackpool because I’ve always travelled there been there for many many years, so I’ll be telling them not to go near any of your establishments as you’ll be ripped off. We will not be using any of your establishments ever again unless it goes under new management, then we...
Read moreThis restaurant is fantastic to visit any time of year where there is a huge selection of food available, not just fish and chips, very suitable if anybody fancies a change for once, with plenty of choice, and even a varied meal of the day to take your fancy at. I went along with a coach party to go round the illuminations, and we called here for our meal time booked inside the restaurant, the place was buzzing and extremely busy with 2 other coach parties booked in as well as ours, as well as walk ins off the street. I had the special with my girlfriend which included of the full works the usual gorgeous fish and chips mushy peas and even 2 slices of bread and double big pot of tea and loads of milk as well me and the girlfriend had, or coffee of your choice, definitely not stingy as other places thrown in a megga megga bargain, the places is licensed, so you can order a your favourite limited glass of wine or bottle, or bitter and lager, obviously you pay extra for. The service was exceptional and friendly and had a good laugh with us all, and quick as well, no waiting about. The fish and chips and mushy peas were like whales, phenomenally cooked to perfection and melted in a your mouth, and gorgeous home made chips, not like the ones u get at the local supermarket, along with the mushy peas. They soon went down a treat plus the brilliant hot brew. Forget the rest of fish and chips in the town, come here I thoroughly...
