Well I wasn't expecting that! (the atmosphere score is a guess from photos as we had delivery) We had a mixed kebab and 2xchicken chat with an additional naan, as my other half is obsessed with chat (a main size portion might be a good suggestion 😅), so not traditional fare necessarily, but we'll definitely be trying the house specialties in the future and also visiting the establishment. It was so far beyond our expectations, we'll be ordering again, and very soon. There are a couple of Turkish places that do homemade donner locally and it's axcellent, however this is a totally different take on that type of kebab and all the better for it. Quite thickly sliced and long strips; whether it was tossed in tandoori sauce or just absorbed some off the chicken, it was exceptional. No gristle, very little fat so the naan didn't go soggy, but enough to make sure the meat was still moist. This is very much not your standard takeaway donner meat. I don't know if they make it or buy a specific one, but it's hella good! The chicken tikka was the exquisite icing on the proverbial kebab cake. Also, what the heck is in that mint sauce??? It goes perfectly on both meats. Portion size was generous, price was excellent; especially considering the amount of food that arrived. Oh and the naans are nice and light and fluffy, but doughy enough too. Also it arrived piping hot to the middle of Blackpool, which is a reasonable distance. Spot on. Really hope they just keep putting this level of food out. If so, we'll be back...
Read moreTable of 7. phoned to book a few days before, but they didn't have the reservation. Luckily we got a table. we brought our own alcoholic drinks as required, 1 person had rum, and brought a can of coke to go with it. The waiter spotted this can and practically berated her on the spot, asking how was spice lobster supposed to make money. This was completely unacceptable. That aside, food was cooked well, but served Luke warm, some mentioned that the dishes were too spicy.
Edit after your response.
I checked the call log on the mobile phone used to make the booking with yourselves. So any error was on your part. You can accept that or not. Crucially none of us have ever been to a non-licensed restaurant, so wouldn't really be aware of any drink rules. I even brought my own beer glass. Again, it's your business, so choose to accept this or not, but your waiter was rude and abrupt, and ultimately you went from 4 star to 3 star. Please bear in mind this was 1 can of pop to go with a rum.
Noone on our table brought cake or bottles of pop / soda / water, so you are referring to a different party.
As mentioned, in the main, the food was cooked nice, and, yes, some main dishes came Luke warm.
I stand by the rating, it's fair and now more constructive, so you can move forward with improvements! also this was a collective review...
Read moreA really disappointing meal at the spice lobster unfortunately. Not only was what we ordered bland and flavourless, my chicken had a bone in it. I understand that these things happen from time to time, but the waiter was quite rude about the whole thing. I honestly didn’t know where to put my face. We waited almost an hour and a half for our meals to even get to our table and when they did I wish they hadn’t bothered. It’s honestly such a shame as me and my friend group eat out all the time and never complain! They didn’t charge us for our meals as we didn’t eat them. But the reaction from them was incredibly awkward. It was an uncomfortable experience and I definitely wouldn’t go back.
response to reply And there’s the terrible attitude we encountered on the night! You’ve clearly not read my review as I’ve said we weren’t charged. So no, I didn’t lie about that AT all how rude are you? What an immature response to criticism. Just like the other night. We have a photo of the bone in my food, you know it was there, you stop lying. Your attitude to us on the night is why I have left his review as it was a very disturbing. Perhaps you can learn from this and deal with criticism and negative feedback in a more mature way in future....
