I have been a mystery shopper for over 6 years and had food all over the country, I am away on holiday at the moment so anything I buy is at my own cost therefore if I write a review it has to be about something very special ( I don't do reviews for free except in exceptions).
On entering the restaurant I was greeted by Franchesco an Italian with huge passion and we were lucky to have him as our waiter for the evening, the simple care and enthusiasm gives a very special start to the evening. We decided to have the set meal, no need to go into great detail about each item for 2 reasons 1 I do not want this to look like one of my reports and 2 it would make it look like I was paid to do this. Each and every course we had was cooked to perfection and you could taste the flavours that you wouldn't get in a Bella Italia I don't want to knock them but this is authentic Italian with passion. In 6 years of mystery shopping I have only ever given a perfect score in every category once that is until today I couldn't fault a single thing and I am trained to look for faults so this made a truly amazing evening for us. We met the owners daughter Erika who is a delightful young lady who has passion like I have never seen before, I watch Gordon Ramsey and see time after time the children who do not want to be a part of the business no passion and really no clue how to run a business. Well Erika is stand out you could be mistaken that this is her restaurant and she had no idea who I am I have never been before. I'm sure her father is very proud of her, I would be.

Read moreWhat a find !!!!!!!!! We visited Terra Nostra early on a Sunday evening and even though it had only been open an hour it was very busy which we took as a good sign. We were greeted at the door by Reece, now I don't normally single out any individual in a team as it can be sometimes construed that the rest of the team aren't very good, which couldn't be farther from the truth as all the team (much of it the owners family) were not only competent but enthusiastic, passionate and happy, but I single Reece out for his bubbly and excellent people skills (I can say this as an experienced manager of retail and hospitality businesses in the past in the Eastern Mediterranean), if I was still operating I'd probably look to head hunt him (sorry Max he's that good). But having a happy passionate team is only half the story and the food has to be the main event, and this is where Terra Nostra excels, not only is it top top quality ingredients cooked with love by the team in the open kitchen, it is also very reasonably priced (given Italian restaurants like Greek have a reputation of being a little on the expensive side). As someone who has been in the 'trade' in the Mediterranean its rare I find a restaurant that lacks in some way or another, however Terra Nostra is both faultless and exemplary from the moment we stepped in the door to our leaving at the end of the evening. Max and his team are so welcoming that even on the busiest of services they will always try and find you a place. This place is extremely busy and rightly so. Gluten Free pasta is always available and if you wish to bring along a GF pizza base they will top and cook it for you. That quite a unique service! The food is exceptional I have steak every time as does my partner and the fillet steak is the best fillet steak we have had anywhere in the world. Max has worked with his butcher for over a decade I believe to assure the finest cuts are always available to his customers. Service is polite and efficient and even with a full restaurant there is no difference in the quality of the food the kitchen delivers. Max and his team are creating amazing food each and every time. Chef is very much in charge of his brigade producing authentic Sardinian flavors from within a relatively small place. I like my steak medium rare and chef never misses that perfect temperature even when my steak is dripping with delicious Dolcelatte. There is a great selection of authentic wines imported directly from Sardinia and Italian larger on draft which is chilled to perfection. Your table for the evening is your table for the evening and you will never be asked to leave to have it flipped. So pick a date, book a table and let Max and his team welcome your into his family.
