I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for months and the staff and food use to be really good! However, overtime the standards has slipped to the gutter! I recently ordered a takeaway (mixed grill) and the meats barely had any flavour and was not cooked properly (bloody inside). I rang up to explain about the food and the manager was very rude, and pretty much called me a liar and did not care that I’d ordered food that was below standard! I would have enjoyed a Mac Donald’s fast food better than what they sent to me! I would not recommend their food and that rude attitude from the manager to anyone! Even if someone was begging food you’d want to give them your best - let alone when you’re spending your hard earned money to be given disgusting food and met with even more disgusting attitude!
UPDATE: Clearly you’re trying to do damage control in your response and it shows your lack of accountability! Like I said the standards is slipping and I would not recommend this establishment because of this! I was never disrespectful in any way! Rather intended explaining and you calmed me a liar and was rude...
Read moreI took my fiance here for an early birthday meal. The front door could do with adjusting as it didn't close properly causing a draft which made it chilly, however they accommodated with electric heaters which soon warmed the restaurant, easy fix so don't let that put you off. The food was probably the best I've had at a Turkish restaurant, we had a starter each which was very tasty a bottle of wine and the mixed shish each. All of which was brilliant 👏🏻 and very reasonably priced. Hussain our waitor was such a nice person and his hospitality was very welcoming making sure we had everything we wanted and made us feel very welcome as did the other staff. The atmosphere was very fun and entertaining as there was live music there by Joe Gibson who is an amazing singer who we are lucky enough to have singing at our wedding later this year. Overall 10/10 and will definitely be returning to this restaurant when we are in the area again. Thanks for a...
Read morePopped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon after church parade with Scouts. Really just wanted somewhere that wasn't going to provide a soggy sandwich or fried food. I picked Black & Red purely based on location, but we're already planning repeat visits, including with family. Let's start with the price. £12 for two courses for a lunch menu is amazing. What you get for that is a selection of freshly made dips, meats or cheeses. I opted for the spinach tarator and it was perfect for a warm summer day. The fresh Turkish bread that came up was delicious. For my main, I had the chicken shish, which came up with rice and the most impressive salad I've ever seen. As we finished up, the server brought over some pieces of warm and sticky baklava that really finished of the meal perfectly. In a high street full of the same carbon-copy coffee shops and fast food chains, this is a real delight that I hope locals and visitors alike will make...
