Located in Unit 9, Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe, this newcomer to the high street coffee scene shows promise but falls short in key areas. Highlights: - Spacious, attractive interior - Balcony seating with large front windows - Strong, flavorful coffee blend - Decent pastries The Good: Black Sheep Coffee impresses with its stylish, spacious layout. The balcony seating and large front windows create an inviting atmosphere. Their coffee blend is notably strong and flavorful (it may need diluting for average UK coffee levels match). The Not-So-Good: Despite the appealing aesthetics, the service model needs work. Automated ordering stations, while functional, feel out of place in a mall setting where personal interaction is expected. This is especially true for coffee, where customization (extra hot, more milk, etc.) is common. Recommendations: 1. Reintroduce personal service with a smile 2. Improve staffing to match demand 3. Train staff to handle customization requests efficiently 4. Consider keeping automated options for rush periods only (or remove) Overall, Black Sheep Coffee shows potential with its attractive space and quality coffee. However, the impersonal ordering system and slow service detract from the experience. With some adjustments to their service model, they could become a strong contender in the competitive high street coffee market.

My absolute favourite coffee shop! It’s clear to me that a majority of people that have left negative reviews for this place have never worked in hospitality, have incredibly unrealistic expectations, and don’t really understand the concept of robusta coffee. I come here regularly (multiple times a week) and the staff are always lovely and welcoming. The only time I’ve ever seen the place ‘dirty’ is after they have had a big rush and simply haven’t had enough staff to keep up with the orders and the cleaning all at once, but if ever this has happened, as soon as it has quietened down the staff have quickly cleaned any left over mess. This mess isn’t helped by the other customers who don’t clean up after themselves and put their rubbish in the bins provided It’s a lovely atmosphere and great for so many occasions, be that a business meeting, a catchup with friends, or just a quiet coffee I would highly recommend and I’ll definitely continue to return Thank you to all of the staff that try so hard! P.S. these pictures were taken on a busy Saturday not long after a rush period and it’s super clean!

We were excited to try Black Sheep Coffee. We waited 15 minutes for one latte, one chai latte and two croissants. The three staff were stressing at each other and there were a lot of other customers stood around waiting for their orders, so not a very inviting atmosphere. When it finally came, the latte was absolutely disgusting! I left 3/4 of it (I’ve never left a coffee before!) and I only drank the bit that I did because I felt bad we’d paid almost £4 for it… it was really bitter and acidic, didn’t even taste of coffee! My mouth felt like an ashtray after a few sips🤣 it was also scorching hot whereas the chai was tepid, so my partner had to drink it straight down. The two croissants were okay but not worth the £7 paid. I hate leaving negative reviews, but sadly we won’t be back.

A Hidden Gem in High Wycombe – Black Sheep Coffee

Black Sheep Coffee in High Wycombe is an absolute standout. Spread across two welcoming floors, it offers both sit-in and takeaway options, making it perfect whether you’re grabbing a quick cup or settling in with a book.

One of the best features is the McDonald’s-style order screens – sleek, intuitive, and incredibly helpful. You can browse the entire menu with ease, including detailed allergy information, which is a huge plus. No confusion, no pressure — just clarity and convenience.

The pastry case is beautifully laid out, tempting you the moment you walk in. Everything looks as good as it tastes, with the toastie range being a particular highlight — warm, crispy, and full of flavour. And the coffee? The Robusta blend is banging — rich, bold, and satisfying. Exactly what you want from your caffeine fix.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Friendly, attentive, and always up for a chat, they make the experience feel personal and genuinely welcoming. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, you’re made to feel like a regular.

As a wannabe coffee shop owner, I believe Black Sheep Coffee nails the vibe, the quality, and the experience. Highly...
