Thoroughly enjoyable first visit for a midweek double date. We travelled to Bombay palace from princes Risborough after hearing sound reviews. Entering the restaurant it was aesthetically very pleasing. A warm welcome and swiftly shown to our table. Plenty of seating within for what I’m sure are busy Friday and Saturday nights. The staff were all very well mannered and attentive. You could see the experience and quiet confidence in how they looked after us throughout the evening . Drinks ordered and delivered before the poppadoms which is always a big tick from me. Drinks well chilled, poppadoms and dips all fresh and crisp. A great start. Perusing the menu there were plenty of options for all tastes and a good range of new/house dishes to read through. As a table of 4 we ordered chicken naga, chicken dansak, king prawn tawa, king prawn khatta mitha, pilau rice, mushroom rice, sag bhaji, sag paneer, begun bhaji, keema naan, garlic naan, peshwari naan. Tastebuds now positively tingling with anticipation. Poppodoms were cleared in advance and hot plates delivered. Drinks refreshed, the mains were delivered on the house cart. Everything was presented beautifully and laid out on the table. The aromas filled our senses and we couldn’t wait to tuck in. Every dish had individual character. Deep thoughtful flavourings. In comparison, some establishments overuse the same curry base for most or all dishes but I must say with this meal everything on our table had its own uniqueness. The stand out dish for me was the king prawn khatta mitha. Perfectly cooked prawns and a creamy well spiced sauce that paired perfectly with shellfish. I could highlight and recommend any of the dishes served to us. Execution was on point. Well done chef. Plates and table cloth cleared as we entered the twilight of our evening and we were then served a complimentary drink for a perfect end to a perfect meal. Congratulations Bombay palace. A real gem of a restaurant we will be sure to visit again.

We visited Bombay Palace for the first time on Wednesday and loved it so much, that we cancelled reservations we had for Thursday night elsewhere, and booked here again, instead! One of the waiters, Dulon, was incredibly attentive and ensured that we had everything we needed alongside taking the time to get to know us and share stories. The other waiters within the establishment were just as wonderful and would check in with us too. The food was incredible and we all agreed that it is the best Indian food we have ever tasted. We all ordered different dishes and were so impressed we were sharing with each other so we could taste all the options. In particular, the fish was cooked to perfection as well as the meat, especially the lamb. We would highly recommend, the atmosphere is enjoyable and relaxing, the staff are friendly and attentive and the decor is beautiful. Thank you very much!

Had a lovely Indian dinner at the Bombay Palace, the staff were very friendly as always. The food tasty and portion sizes were just right. We dined on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was extremely busy with quite a few 5 tables with large groups (8+), this meant that the volume of talking soon became a bit distracting and meant our table of four were soon having to almost shout to each other. Whilst this is not a negative on the restaurant, it is a word of caution, that if you want a nice sociable meal with friends and family, Friday nights are not the night to do it. Overall the meal was up to the usual standard and no hesitation recommending this restaurant for a meal.

Terribly regret visiting. Fell for the reviews! Could be just us but service was terrible. We asked for recommendations for vegetarians…to which the waiter said…they don’t recommend as everything is good and he didn’t want to take the blame if the recommendation wasn’t good! Masala papad was raw 40%. to which the waiter responded all masala papads are the same and he can just take it away…didn’t even offer a replacement! Veg biriyani was yuck! The way he served made it look worse. The bowl swirled as he threw it on the table literally! We had to ask him twice for water and he bought only 2 glasses when we were 3! I had to go to the billing desk to get another glass. Right from the time we booked the table, the experience was no way near positive. I should’ve read the cues but gave the benefit of non native speakers (like me)….what a blunder! The very focus of the waiter was to get the table back…will you leave the table by 8? Understood it is a busy Friday. Full of customers in tightly arranged tables like a local busy pub but instantly realised as soon as we saw the menu, that this place isn’t suitable for vegetarians! Very few options. My fault, I should’ve checked the menu in depth. As soon as we finished mains, no offer for desserts made…well they wanted us to leave. New benchmark for our worst restaurant experience in...

So everything is expensive these days which makes it's more important than ever that when you want to relax and get a takeaway you get a good one. This is not such a place. I had a lamb curry which I wanted extra spicy and my wife didn't fancy meat so went with bombay potatoes. We shared pilau rice and garlic naan. To be fair the sauce was very tasty and my wife enjoyed her dish apart from thinking the potatoes were a bit under cooked. Delivery was quick and prices were average for the area. However, the rice was wet, so much so that the plate was swimming in water. My lamb was tough and full of grisle to the extent that it was inedible. Despite asking for mine being extra spicy I had a disappointingly bland meal with extra water instead of spice so not great. The bread was OK, nothing special so all in all a big disappointment. We ordered from here as our usual was shut and it had good reviews I wish we had just had something from the fridge instead. We won't be ordering from here again! I understand that business are struggling but so are we all, it's not reasonable to cut quality increase prices and pass it on to customers. A very...
