A Flavorful Journey Through Kerala: An Unforgettable Dining Experience.. I recently had the pleasure of dining at a unique South Indian restaurant that truly captured the essence of Kerala cuisine. With a fusion twist to adapt to modern tastes, this restaurant delivered an exceptional culinary experience that left me and my family in awe. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for a treat.
The restaurant was bustling with guests, a testament to its popularity and reputation for outstanding food. We were promptly seated, and the attentive staff made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the evening.
To kick off our meal, we ordered the starter seafood platter, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The platter offered a delightful combination of spicy and crispy textured seafood dishes that were bursting with flavor. It was a tantalizing introduction to the feast that awaited us.
One dish that truly stole the show was the seafood soup. It was nothing short of mind-blowing and easily one of the best seafood soups I have ever tasted. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the aroma was irresistible. Even my 4-year-old couldn't get enough of it, and we ended up ordering another round.
While the Calicut biryani didn't quite match the traditional Calicut style, as it leaned towards a Hyderabad variation, it still managed to impress. The aromatic blend of spices and tender meat made for a satisfying dish. However, if you're looking for a true culinary journey through Kerala, I highly recommend the Kappad Feast Thalli.
The Kappad Feast Thalli is a three-course meal that takes you on a gastronomic adventure, showcasing flavors from the north to the south of Kerala. Each course was carefully crafted to provide a delightful variety of tastes and textures. The highlight of the thalli was the fish curry with mango, which evoked a sense of home-cooked goodness. Every bite transported me to the coastal villages of Kerala.
In addition to the extraordinary food, the service at the restaurant was commendable. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our needs. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was flawless from start to finish.
In conclusion, our visit to this South Indian restaurant was an absolute delight. The amazing food, vibrant ambiance, and attentive service combined to create an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a fan of traditional Kerala cuisine or looking to explore new flavors with a fusion twist, this restaurant is a must-visit. I highly recommend indulging in the seafood platter, savoring the mind-blowing seafood soup, and embarking on the culinary adventure that is the Kappad Feast Thalli. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreGood food is something one misses when one leaves one’s motherland. Having moved to the UK about 25 years ago, we are/were always on the lookout for authentic, good quality food from back home and being from south India, we were pleased when we discovered this delightful place in High Wycombe!
As a Malayali (that is what people from the state of Kerala are called ), I can tell you the food here is as good as it gets. We, as a family, have been visiting this charming restaurant for a while now and every time, we have come away with smiles on our faces. Not just eat-in, we get take-away food as well.
Food: Now, if you were to ask me, what I like here, you ought to trust me when I say “everything.” I can honestly say I have eaten most of the food on the present menu and previous menus too. I especially love the appams and egg roast – some of you may find the roast a tad spicy, but trust me it is divine. Some of my favourites include prawns ularthu, adipoli kozhi, lamb black pepper fry, Mysore masala dosa, meen pollichathu, konju masala, beef peralan, koonu curry, Travancore okra, aviyal, chicken biriyani, lemon rice, ……the list goes on and on!
Staff: The chefs are truly humble guys – we have met Silson and Lijo to personally complement them about their food. It is obvious that they are quite passionate about what they do.
Service: Saravanan, Edward, Johnson, Pratima, Abin, Rosemol - have I named everyone? Excellent – all of them are polite, attentive and serve you with a smile. Top team.
Would we come here again? YES, YES, YES. We come here regularly, if not every week, at least once in a fortnight. In fact, just the other day my wife and I had our lunch at Kappad and returned the same evening for supper! Do I need to say anymore?
To summarise: Great food, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service. You will come back for more!
Well done to you...

We started with Uzhunnu Vada, a crispy and golden-fried delight that was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Served with chutney and sambar, it had the perfect balance of spice and flavor.
For the main course, we enjoyed the Kerala Parotta, which was beautifully layered, flaky, and soft—an ideal companion for the gravies. The Nadan Beef Curry stood out with its deep, rich, and aromatic blend of spices, cooked to perfection with tender beef pieces. It had the authentic, home-style touch that every Kerala food lover craves.
The Konju Masala (Prawn Masala) was another highlight. The prawns were fresh and juicy, bathed in a thick, flavorful masala with just the right amount of heat. It paired wonderfully with both the parotta and rice.
Overall, Kappad Restaurant delivers an authentic Kerala feast with bold flavors and well-executed dishes. Whether you’re a fan of spicy beef curries or seafood delicacies, this place is a fantastic choice. Highly...
