The Flint Cottage — Restaurant in England

I got a pint of Madri. Sat down,lifted the glass to take a sip. The smell hit me. OFF. I tried a sip,tasted slightly sour. I persevered. You never know,your lunch affects your pallet I got through,just under an inch of the pint and gave up. It did smell bad and it did taste sour. The barmaid was brilliant. She appologised and offerede another drink. I thanked her and asked if I could have a pint of Moretti. I drank all but the very bottom of the glass. I took the glass back to the bar and thanked the barmaid for her help and told her the Moretti had a,slight smell and.slightly,'off' taste. The barmaid pointed out that three other customers had/were drinking the Moretti without complaint. Hard to argue with the logic. The 'lines' were obviously not clean,to differing levels. . Used this pub yesterday as was visiting for the match. Perfect location right across the road from the Station and ideal for the shuttle bus to the Stadium. Very friendly and welcoming towards away fans offering 20% off drinks on production of your match ticket. No food but they are happy for you to take food in as long as you tidy up after. All of the ales were in excellent condition and there was plenty of choice of all other drinks too. Decent size inside, screens but no live Sport showing there is also a pool table and dart board which can be used. Popped back in after the match before the train and also got some cans to take out for the journey home with the 20% off. This will be our pub of choice now for any future visits...

Five of us went for lunch last week & were told by the unfriendly barman that we would have to register by using the app on our phones. We were all over 60 years old so not surprisingly, no one had the app. We were then told that it was ILLEGAL not to register without the app & no pub, cafe or restaurant in town would let us in (complete nonsense!) He then begrudgingly took our details & recorded them on his laptop. We sat in the garden & ordered food & drink..."mineral water with lime" (no lime available) "What ciders did the pub have" (only one) Fish & chips were ordered (the pub had no fish & chips!) The pub was virtually empty, though the barman appeared irritated by our very presence...nice...
