Boston's Diners — Restaurant in England

It is with a shame that am writing this re-review of my past review. Before I gave this diner a 4/5 star and me and my wife have bought so many pizzas from Bostons over the past two years. But sadly with ordering a lot more these past few months we have changed our opinion drastically. Too many times the food arrives cold or too salty. There have been several occasions where our meal orders were wrong. Whether they missed out extra paid for toppings, extra requests, had a online malfunction that causes us to have two orders made instead of two. Regular rude delivery drivers who claim to have been waiting outside for ages having tried the buzzer to our apartment when our buzzer was on, works and they even have my cell phone number. Is obvious those in question just wanted a tip. The key to any establishment is to find a working formulae and stick to it without changing it a lot. Sadly at this diner their standards change on a regular basis. Perhaps they keep changing chefs or the ingredients but it clearly shows. For instance a pizzas sauce is there to compliment the pizza and is not meant to be too overpowering yet the only taste that you can barely taste is the sauce itself, which is too sweet and strong for its own good. We recently ordered another pizza from another establishment with little hope of finding a decent pizza and yet we were proved wrong. From tasting for so long the lowered standards at this establishment after ordering from somewhere else we for once managed to have our pizzas without feeling bloaty or sick after, or having our throats uncomfortable from the overpowering sauce or excess salt that does not compliment at all together. The pizza unlike Bostons was soft as one should be, whiles I have noticed that Bostons pizzas have a burnt crust on the bottom, whiles the toppings either will be burnt, undercooked or on a rare occasion just right. With this establishment changing way too much in the type of food that it provides it has disappointed us too many times and sadly this diner has lost another loyal customer along with the others that have now left. I hope that they can find a way to turn themselves around because we have given this establishment way too many...

This is a great little gem in an otherwise poor town for decent fast food.

Food: Ordered ‘Combination of 3 Kebabs’ and was suitably impressed. X2 chicken sheesh and X1 lamb sheesh. It came in a standard Pitta bread with a salad box and the chilli sauce is authentic and on point. Plenty of high quality lean chicken well grilled. Lamb is tender and tasty. Other places that do a ‘platter’ style mix would struggle to give you as much for £16.50 (at time of writing). Bread and salad cost nothing - the real money goes on the meat / protein content. And here they deliver.

Note: no chips or drink in with that. However I’m alright with that fact as I’m keeping it lean.

Service: the counter is busy at half 8 any evening. However I was served promptly 14 minutes after ordering. Fresh grilled and not a long wait. My food was straight on the grill and served fast. Staff were busy but polite. I don’t mind them keeping their eye on the ball rather than talking bollocks with me.

Place: there is a little room in the front of the shop to eat with a couple of tables and chairs - but this is a takeaway / delivery place in reality. Plastic fork and paper napkins were there. I stayed and ate in. Wasn’t too hot or loud… but I wouldn’t come here with anyone - I’d order and eat at home or whatever.

Verdict: hits the spot nicely for the money. They do other stuff like burgers and pizzas that I didn’t try but - for straight up kebabs this is the place in Kettering. It’s a Turkish place really... Not an American diner. Highly...

I've been a pretty loyal customer for a few years now, and I can safely say that the food quality has been consistently good and very tasty.

However, I can no longer reccomend, I've given no end of last chances, but as nice as the food has been, I cannot simply gloss over the fact that every single order I've had delivered for the past half a year, (which has been less since it started happening) has had hair in the food.

I'm not a squeamish person, but such a constant thing shows that the staff are clearly not showing much care for hygene, and I implore anyone ordering from here to thoroughly check your food before you eat it, you don't know what might be...
