Butlers Café — Restaurant in England

I normally love this cafe, and have recommended it to others. However, today was very disappointing. I always have the same meal, (homemade meat pie, mash and 2 veg) which is normally very good. Today the mashed potato had several large lumps in every bite, and the bottom crust of the pie was hard with a slightly burnt taste. My partner's chips were quite inedible, maybe warmed up? My coffee, which is normally really nice, was just lukewarm. We didn't complain as I felt quite sorry for the staff as one of them told me last time we were in, several weeks ago, that business had not been good since the reopening. I decided to write this, in the hope that the owner will see it and hopefully address any issues. It's not that cheap, either, especially if you don't have the 'free' pudding, which I'm told, many don't. I would be sad to see this cafe shut down, but I can see that happening if things don't get back up...

Really seems to have gone downhill. Went last weekend hardly a table was clean despite having plenty of staff. Cappuccino tasted like dishwater. Didn't even receive my child's drink. Food was awful. Cheese on toast tasted like claggy sick on soggy bread it was truly awful! Really disappointed I used to enjoy this place but I'm done now after a couple...

Been coming here a while now and I ordered jam rollsy polly and custard it took them nearly 40 minutes to make it. When I went to complain the manager said he didn't know I wanted it then as there only usually doing breakfasts at this time. So my brew was nearly cold so disappointed didn't seem bothered at all. No way to treat...
