Nestled in the heart of Minehead, Butterflies Cafe is a hidden gem that I can't help but rave about. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly set the tone for a memorable dining experience.
Having heard great things about their breakfast offerings, we decided to try both the regular breakfast and their pancakes with bacon and syrup during my visit. The regular breakfast was a symphony of flavors â eggs cooked to perfection, crispy bacon, succulent sausages, and all the traditional fixings that make a hearty breakfast complete. It was comfort food at its finest, prepared with a touch of homemade goodness that made all the difference.
It's not just the food that makes Butterflies Cafe exceptional; it's the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality that completes the experience. The staff was not only attentive but also genuinely passionate about the food they serve and the customers they cater to. It's a rare find to encounter a place where you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another customer.
The café itself is tastefully decorated, with a cozy ambiance that makes you want to linger a little longer. Whether you're enjoying a meal alone, catching up with friends, or simply seeking a tranquil spot to savor your morning, Butterflies Cafe provides the perfect backdrop for any occasion.
If you're in Minehead and seeking a truly exceptional breakfast, do yourself a favour and visit Butterflies CafĂ© â you won't be disappointed!

Read moreI should start by saying sorry to the wonderful owners for forgetting to write this review for so long, so my apologies! Itâs such a shame I live in Derbyshire because if I was closer I would eat here every week! We came down to Butlins for the week and as you can imagine we wanted to eat anywhere but Butlins and one morning me and the brother in law jumped on the electric scooters to find somewhere for breakfast while the families slept. We stumbled upon this absolute gem of a place. Letâs start with the food⊠everything on our plates was as fresh as it gets and bursting with flavour! Definitely butchers meat and not just the typical cheap stuff. Also the portions are so generous I couldnât finish my plate and as you can see from the picture (my big belly on the left) I love my food.
The service⊠the 2 ladies was wonderful in making our experience enjoyable and told us all about the area and kept us laughing the whole time we was there, full of energy and a please to be around.
Although this was our secret to go out and eat without the families to save money, I couldnât help but give in and tell them of this place just so I could go again before we headed back home and again it was just as good as the first time.
If you are going to Butlins donât waste your money buying food there just come straight...
Read moreButterflies cafe is just lovely. The two ladies who served us couldnât have been any nicer but unfortunately the food was lacking. My husband had the chicken pie which was a reasonable price but we were astonished when it was brought to our table. The pie was no bigger than an individual Bakewell Tart and the chicken inside mostly pastry would only just fill an egg cup. The chips were nice though. My ploughmanâs was equally disappointing. The ham, which normally in a ploughmanâs is thick and off the bone, was the thin packaged ham normally used for sandwiches. The cheese was also disappointing, a few small strips of very mild cheddar. The rest of the meal isnât worth mentioning. I canât speak for the other food on the menu. Maybe we just chose the wrong food on the day. Butterflies was the first cafe we came to when we visited Minehead, but if we had only walked a little further, we would have had a choice of so many more.
Looking at your response of the other reviews itâs just as well we didnât say anything at the time as it seems you don't take a little bit of criticism well. You say you don't do big plates of cheap food but unfortunately the ham and cheese on the ploughman's...
