Would have liked it to have been a welcoming experience as it looked lovely and cosy all tucked away down the alleyway... But we left annoyed that we wasted our money there. And disgusted that they had poor hygiene as they were stroking dogs then serving food without washing their hands!! The reason we went was to have a treat with tea and cake... The tea was awful... A tea bag tea - in a pot at least, but would have been far better to have had loose tea! Then the cake we ordered wasn't available and we weren't told until they were serving us the cakes so one of us had to miss out... The cakes we did eat were awful. A complete waste of money! The scones were tiny, dry and didn't have any cream!! The Victoria sponge was dry, dense with an awful attempt at buttercream with a glacé cherry on. I've never left cake before but I couldn't eat this! Wouldn't bother...

I live in Nantwich and hadn’t been in for a while as the last couple of times we had to wait over 40 mns from order to delivery, so thought I would try again this morning, I ordered at 10.50 and it arrived at 11.27, poached eggs on toast, obviously my tea was drunk before it arrived, it use to be better a couple of years ago but don’t go there at 11.30 as they swap to lunch menu and don’t take orders for lunch till 12, so half an hour when you can’t order food, it’s all very strange, 4 tables left when I was sitting there, it needs a proper manager to run the very young team, such a shame as the foodbb be is good but not worth waiting for with soo many...

I believe this café has the potential to be nice however, this was unfortunately not reflected in our experience. The atmosphere inside was dark and small. I am not sure if there was a staffing issue but we couldn’t find any staff. We were not greeted when we arrived and after waiting for a member of staff, we had to go searching for our own menus. We saw two elderly gentlemen having to call over a waiter to place their order as they appear to have been forgotten about. The prices are very high, even for Nantwich, with just a baguette being £10. Instead we decided to leave, finding a cheaper...

I really enjoy coming here for a spot of lunch with a friend. Their famed French onion soup is a favourite go-to, and they do a fairly priced combo with a half Croc Monsieur for >£15. However, the past few times I’ve been, the wait time for the food to come out has been consistently sub par. This week, it took ~45 mins between being seated and for our orders (essentially a soup and a toasted sandwich) to come out. The food is great, and an ideal spot if you want a leisurely lunch, but if you want to grab a bite to eat with a friend on your lunch hour, maybe one to avoid.

Nice lil cafe, set back from the main road, within Nantwich. Popped in for a small bit of lunch and very pleased we did... The infamous French Onion soup was a definite choice to consider and of course, we did choose it.. photo attached. Didn't expect the sourdough 'crouton with oodles of cheese on it, within the soup.. very VERY nice indeed (careful, it's hot Hot HOT). Had this with a Half-Croque Monsieur on the side, as part of a lunch deal and some iced coffee, due to the unseasonably warm day. Definitely will return!

Had two different avocado on toast versions, one with smoked salmon and the other one with a nice bacon. Both very cool but a more modern twist could be applied in my opinion. It's also a great spot for coffee. Slightly different and better flavour than the rest of the area. In my previous visit the owner made me a specific espresso martini so kudos to him for being good and attentive towards customers. The staff in general is a bit cold and not engaging.
