I cannot speak more highly of this resturant. Firstly the waiter we had (that i had last time i came also) was so friendly, helpful, and inviting. He was also very professional and ensured my Father and I had the best experience possible. I told him id leave a review so if youre reading this, thank you. The decor is simple but effective. Providing a unique feel that could persuade you youre somewhere else while youre there. It helps create a relaxed and fitting atmosphere that helps make the experience extra special. There arent an overwhelming amount of tables which i really like. Its not crowded. In terms of the food. Wow! It is all cooked fresh and comes out when its ready. This way of serving makes you really feel like youre in Greece, on holiday, relaxing and enjoying the experience of eating! All of the food is remarkable. Has a variety of flavours and textures even within individual dishes that is unexpected and exciting. Id suggest the Meze halloumi and pork belly dishes, and the mousakka and open soulvaki to anyone going there for their first time. I cannot wait to go back!!! Thank you to the St Marthas team, what you have and what youve created it unique and special.
(I usually take pictures of the food for my reviews however it was so nice i...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times and always get amazing service and incredible food! The staff are extremely friendly and chatty, we had a good laugh with them. They are also very attentive, making sure you're happy with the food and have enough drinks. We went for the mixed dips and pita, and the fried courgettes. The taramosalata was our favourite dip, so full of fresh flavour and so moreish! The Tzatziki was a close second, again so full on flavour, lovely and rich and creamy. We enjoyed the hummus, too, although we found the beetroot a little too overpowering. The pita was lovely and warm and tasted delicious. The courgettes were huge! (photo with a fork next to them to show size comparison) They were really well cooked, the batter was lovely and light and had been seasoned well so had lots of flavour. We both went for the chicken souvlaki and wow it was so good! The chicken was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the chargrilled flavour came out and stayed with you. It came on a bed of tzatziki and pita, which went so well with the chicken. It was all filling, and so we couldn't manage dessert, I'm kicking myself though as I really wanted to try the Baklava, something I'll be sure to do next time! Highly recommend coming here, it's such a...
Read moreVery quaint, bespoke little 'taverna-esquse' restaurant. Huge positive reviews, that mean you realistically need to book way in-advance too.
Excellent service from start to finish and of course food was (fortunately) as per the positive reviews, truely exquisite!
I got too excited to remember to take photos of the starters (mezé), but those attached are the Mains (Kyrios): Psari (Pan-fried Sea Bream, Chicken Souvlaki (Traditional Greek open kebab) and Side (Synodeftika): Patates (Potatoes, roasted in Lemon and Olive butter.
Don't be fooled by the little plates, as its all very very filling. We also had the Bifteki, Fried Courgettes and Kalamarakia (the cougettes sound uninspiring but a divine in themselves).
We were fortunate enough to live in Greek Cyprus for a few years and the food, drink and atmosphere was 99.999% as good, bar the pouring winter rain outside (so can't wit til Summer). I think the only thing I missed from back then was "deep fried celery leaves in Tempura batter". Just a thought for the chefs, but again theyll be as divine, I'm sure.
Definitely will return for a special occasion, as is a tad expensive for just an...
