I visited here today (Friday 3rd January) with friends late morning and sadly I did not have a great experience. It was busy, loud, and other than approaching them to order the staff barely noticed or acknowledged us.

When ordering my peppermint tea I was served by the young female with the blue hair and she asked if I wanted honey with it - which was completely bizarre and is something I have never experienced when purchasing peppermint tea before - I declined. The tea came loose leaf in a strainer at the top of the teapot, the leaves were black not green (a sign of oxidation), and I poured it into the cup within a few minutes of sitting at the table. The tea was like drinking bitter warm water and barely tasted or smelled of mint. Two of my friends tried and smelled it and said they agreed. I didn't end up finishing the drink as it was so unpalatable.

Shortly before I left I returned the remaining drink to the counter where it was presented to me, the female with the blue hair took a while to acknowledge my presence, when she did I told her that the tea was horrible, it barely tasted of mint and was very bitter. Rather than take my feedback on board and apologise or offer me a different drink she got quite defensive and said that I'd ordered it over an hour ago so of course it would be bitter if it's overstewed (Not possible with the way the teapot and strainer are designed, after pouring 100ml from the teapot the leaves are no longer touching the water, the only way it would overstew would be if I hadn't poured it at all - defies the point in ordering a hot drink). I told her I had poured it within a few minutes and it tasted bitter then, and that two of my friends had tried it too and thought the same. She responded with a very dismissive singsongy "okay" then carried on with what she was doing.

I found her attitude disgusting and regardless of whether my order was ÂŁ2.95 or ÂŁ29.95 I deserve the same respect as any other paying customer and my feedback should have been acknowledged and acted upon not only for myself but for the benefit of other customers.

If tea is bitter it's been improperly stored and has oxidised by being exposed to the air for too long.

Fortunately I have personally known Chris, the Founder of The Coffee House for 25+ years and I will be making him aware of...

The coffee house has a lovely atmosphere, great staff, very friendly and the service is always excellent. We called in over the weekend for a coffee and it was like a children's play area with a child screaming and crying at the top of their voice. They constantly played with motorised toys running them along the cafe floor were they constantly bumped into people and their tables. Weekends are a very busy period for the Coffee House and the parents should be more responsible than let them run free in a coffee shop with staff bring hot drinks / coffee to peoples' tables. The partnets would be the first to complain if their child had had an accident with one of the waitresses. They should have been more considerate, and if they wanted somewhere for their child to play, there should have taken them to a park and not a busy coffee shop. It is not something I would have expected to see in a very busy cafe and I could see there was a number of people who were not happy with the situation. We were unable to move to somewhere quieter as all the seats...

When I ended up being in Warrington WAY longer than I planned( a month!)while getting my daughter set up there as an international dance student… THIS place was my saving grace! The service was quick, friendly, and conscientious of my order… The coffee was always delicious and spot on… and the atmosphere and location was exactly what I needed! I even bought the sandwiches and desserts and they were all delicious! Thank you for serving me so well… 😊

Staff are always so friendly, food served fresh and hot. Plenty of tables free and cleared off quick and efficient. Plenty of choices to choose from drinks are also lovely. Prices are what you’d expect for the location and the type of place. Great to stop by for a nice drink and a quick bite to eat.
