The worst food I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. That’s not an exaggeration either it honestly was inedible and I only bought a pizza, the simplest food you could possibly hope to eat in a restaurant!
The pizza was supposed to be a four seasons: Parma ham; mozzarella; artichoke and pepperoni on a thin Italian pizza base (thing dough with a tomato and cheese base). What I received was not even a close approximation- it was crunchy bread (not pizza dough, actual bread that was rock hard and toasted); tomato sauce and cheap, orange cheddar cheese substitute (so it had zero flavour) was spread on the base; the mozzarella was pure filler and tasted like hot plastic; the Parma ham was actually cubes of Peck - that awful, rubbery, reconstituted meat that looks like human flesh and tastes like dog food smells; the pepperoni was some kind of reconstituted, processed meat that had been doused in oil and garlic, so much so that it leaked oil when pressed and the garlic burned my mouth and overpowered everything! The artichoke was, I suspect, cabbage that had been boiled until it looked like cellophane and tasted pretty much like a suspect clingfilm would taste if I doused that in garlic. The combined effect of this travesty was, as you’d imagine, horrendous. It actually made me feel sick for hours afterwards and I only ate a small part of each section.
The beer (Perroni) was ok, although it had a slight taste of having been in the pipes too long, which was shame. Having said that perroni is one of those beers that it’s rare to get on tap and have it tases right. No idea why that is but it seems to happen a lot. Maybe it’s not that popular and isn’t changed often? Anyway it was ‘ok’ so at least that was one (the only) good point.
The staff were weird in a way that is hard to describe: the waitress we first encountered looked at us, asked what we wanted (table for two) the ran off like we had threatened her life. A waiter then emerged from somewhere in the background, which was bizarre as he wasn’t anywhere to be seen moments earlier. It was like something out of Predator - he just came out of the wallpaper!
Once we were seated (it was empty and it was 4:45pm) he asked what he wanted and then looked baffled when we told him. He then somehow kind read the drinks order, which was impressive but somehow sinister. It was worth the £60 for that alone!
Not a cheap place to eat (two pizzas, four drinks and two coffees was nearly £70) and the food was abysmal; service was just weird but the place was clean and looked nice enough. The fact it was empty when we arrived at what should have been a busy period should have alerted us to the food quality, but we’d just driven for 6 hours so that was our fault.
I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re already very drunk, in which case you probably won’t notice how bad the food is. I certainly wouldn’t go...

The service was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable and made thoughtful recommendations, even offering wine pairings that perfectly complemented our dishes.
We started with the burrata and prosciutto, which was fresh and full of flavor. For the main course, I had the house-made pappardelle with wild mushroom truffle cream sauce—it was hands down one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and everything tasted homemade.
Dessert was the perfect finish: a creamy tiramisu and a silky panna cotta that melted in the mouth.
This restaurant is a true gem for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine. The passion and care in both the food and the service shine through in every detail. I can’t wait to return—and...
Read moreWe were visiting friends in Frome for the weekend and we hadn't booked a restaurant as our plans were not set. We ended up here as we couldn't get a table in our preferred choices of restaurant. Big mistake. Absolutely horrible food. I don't think it would be possible to make food this horrible if you tried. As soon as we walked in our hearts sank when we saw the size of the place, we know from experience we are unlikely to get good food in England in a restaurant this large. I had meatballs. The consistency was like the cheapest form of sausage you could buy, and the sauce didn't taste like there were any natural or fresh ingredients in it. My husband had a pasta chicken dish and found it equally unpleasant. We are average cooks and often cook Italian food. It is not difficult to make quick, fresh, tasty, good quality Italian food. This restaurant is an insult to its customers...
