Had a great evening out in Frome's Bath Arms for a proper sit down meal. After a little confusion on locating it's entrance (it shares one with Finiggans Bar), we were shown to our table. STARTERS: I had the Calamari & my wife had halloumi fries, both were generous servings, delicious & very reasonably priced! A great start! MAINS: I had there renowned black rock fillet steak with triple fried chips and a garlic sauce, my wife had a goats cheese topped burger with chippotts (¼er'ed roast potatoes turned into a chip somehow) which she loved. I did not think the black rock plate would stay hot enough to cook my fillet throughout my meal, but by the end of my meal, it remained hot to sizzle my steak to perfection ! Service was excellent, the atmosphere also great and the price for two we were very happy with. Will we go again! YES we will! It was our first visit and the reputation of this Bath Arms was fully validated and exceeded! Well done!

Our favorite Sunday roast destination in Frome! This local gem has become our weekend ritual when we want to stay in town, and for good reason. The roast dinner offers exceptional value for money, featuring pork belly cooked to perfection and big portions of veggies! But don't limit yourself to Sundays – their diverse menu shines throughout the week. The tapas selection is outstanding, and the hot rock steak experience is a must-try, letting you cook your meat exactly to your liking at the table. What truly sets this place apart is the genuine hospitality. The staff and owner create such a welcoming atmosphere that you feel like a regular from your very first visit. The warm, inviting ambiance makes every meal here feel special. Whether you're craving a traditional Sunday roast or looking for a cozy spot for dinner, this restaurant delivers consistently excellent food and service. A true Frome favourite!

The staff at the restaurant were incredibly accommodating and managed to find us a table for 10 at the last minute. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great dining experience. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was impeccable. The menu had a wide variety of options to suit everyone's tastes, and the portion sizes were generous. The chef clearly takes pride in their work, and it definitely showed in the quality of the dishes. Overall, we were extremely impressed with the service and the food at this restaurant. It was the perfect way to end our day at Longleat. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Very sad to be writing this but.... We recently moved to the area and enjoyed a fantastic experience at The Old Bath Arms the first time we visited (less than 6 weeks ago or so)||Having booked to see a film at The Westway Cinema for 7.45 I rung up The Old Bath Arms for a pre-cinema supper. I was told they were full in the restaurant but were happy to seat us in the bar for food, which was perfect as we had such a delicious meal we were just happy to get in!||We arrived and it all went downhill. ||We were offed to sit downstairs in the restaurant but as the tables weren’t ready yet we agreed so as to not have to be an inconvenience we were happy to sit in the bar. We were also on a time limit - we arrived at the restaurant at 6.45 in order to make our viewing. ||The lady showed us to our table on the bar and gave us menus. She was lovely, absolutely no complaints about the blonde haired waitress. But the table was so sticky it was unpleasant. ||We chose our food and drinks and waited||And waited||And waited|||And waited ||We then checked the clock and went back downstairs to the restaurant to see who we could order from. ||A young waiter with black hair said ‘Oh no has no-one told you if you’re in the bar you have to order at the bar?’ ||Unfortunately no-one had.||Fast forward 45/50 minutes, chasing our food twice, once with a lady who never got back to us and once with an excellent and friendly black waiter (I forgot your name but thank you!) we finally got our food and shovelled it down. ||We appreciate all your delicious food is cooked to order, however this evening the service was pretty hit and miss. We did say on the phone, when we arrived, when we ordered and again afterwards we were on a time limit. We would have understood completely as it’s around the Christmas period how busy you may be and booked elsewhere. We both felt forgotten and as someone who has posted an excellent review in the past I feel sad...

We stayed here at the end of a tour across Somerset. We had 2 rooms as they couldn't provide twin beds. My room was OK, but my wife's was damp and musty. Breakfast was good. Dinner the night before had some issues. I ordered the steak and my wife a gourmet burger. Then the waiter tried to explain their buy one get one free. Sounds good. Then he said I had to buy a sauce (extra 3 pounds I think) in order to qualify. I said OK so long as the sauce was on the side and came nowhere near the steak. I'm a bit of a purist. Then he said I had to cook it myself. Apparently they have this gimmick (which was the thing in Canada many years ago) where you get your steak on a hot rock and you cook it yourself in front of you. I said if I wanted to cook a steak I'd do it at home and when I eat out I want a good chef to cook it. So we didn't qualify for the buy one get one free. The steak that was presented was cooked perfectly.||I did speak to the manager about the issue and he tried to explain that if he did do the buy one get one free and cook the steak as well, he would have to hire another chef. Of course if we had both chosen the gourmet burger the offer would have applied, so I don't really understand that explanation. A disappointing response, though given politely by...
