Cherry Tree — Restaurant in England

Popped in on Sunday and we were planning to have breakfast after hearing good things about this cafe. Once inside the whole place was so grubby it put us off eating there. The only menu available is stuck in the front window so you have to go back outside to check it, that's if you can read it as the paper is falling apart. Next to our table there was a hole in the wall with a kitchen towel randomly shoved into it and grime marks around the edges of the floor. I dread to think what the kitchen is like if that's the level of cleanliness in customer areas. The member of staff who served us stunk of smoke and had yellow tobacco marks on her fingers. A mixed bag really. Nice, clean and warm environment from my experience. Prices were OK, but the main thing that stood out with our cooked breafasts were all of our baked beans! We had 3 portions that came in their own seperate pots and all were less than luke warm, I quietly called over a staff member and they took them back to be heated up. 5 mins later they came back and to our surprise they were still cold!! I couldn't be bothered to go through that process again as the rest of the food's temperature was luke warm by that stage so we all ate cold baked beans! Probably the worse Black coffee I've ever had (&how can you mess up a Black coffee?!) my friends capacino was awful too. Complained about the black coffee the waitress said that's what you ordered! I said "there was something wrong with it" she said "that's how we make it here" I said again there's something wrong with it "she said do you want another one Yes I said I think they just put some more hot water in the original one - which was still disgusting like they hadn't used fresh coffee to make it with - never again Quite shocked at the waitress incompetence and lack of politeness.
