What can I say? The staff have taken a truly lovely restaurant and ruined it with appalling service. I had fondness for the food and so didn't leave a negative review until now, but this is 3 times, on the trot, that I've had such poor service I've chosen to leave rather than endure the insult just for a mediocre plate of Italian food. Be better, Bella Napoli. Hire people that actually care about customer service, and at the very least send your current staff to additional training they clearly need desperately.
It was a sunny day today, I walked in, made eye contact with a staff member inside, grabbed a menu and went to the table right outside the window. My choice. I wanted to eat fairly nice food in a moderately pleasant spot of sunshine. After about 15 minutes of me looking around, trying to catch the eye of a staff member, being looked at and ignored, a brash and attitude-soaked chap poked his head outside, laughed at me, told me they're not serving outside, I said 'but I've chosen to sit outside...' he then had the gall to say 'did you tell anyone you were sitting outside?', as if a customer at a damn restaurant would need to tell the staff they intend to utilise the tables set on their venue to indulge in their services... Come on.... And then laughed at me, saying no, I'm not going to serve you outside its too cold.... The weather right now is 11° and sunny, feel free to check the reports, and moreover, I am a customer that decided to sit at a table they've provided, with no indication the outside tables were 'off limits'... So for the third time at this restaurant I simply walked away and gave my business to another eatery in the area. Supremely disappointed and as such will not go back, in addition to strongly advising every family member and friend I have to also not bother...
Read moreVery disappointed with service and food. I saw no vegan options but it said to ask if you have an allergy. I asked if they had vegan chease and they said yes just for pizzas. So I ordered a vegan margarita. It came and the chease clearly wasn't vegan. It had that thick fatty and rubbery texture with the saturated fat sitting on it was orange light brown in places. Very strong flavour too. I asked if it was vegan they said yes I asked kindly to see the packaging to put my mind at rest. They came out with out the packet saying they didn't have it. There was some frozen grated chease in a pot and said they used it was different to what was on my pizza. The chef came out and looked at me blankly just nodding it was vegan. I was gaslighted by 3 members of staff (all men , I was out with a child). Horrible experience. This has happened before at another place I know it shouldn't but people make mistakes. The manager of the other place apologised and all was well, I'm reasonable and I was fine they just made another one for free all good. They displayed good customer service. Be wary don't go to this place if your vegan or have allergies. On the way out I shared I wasn't happy and there was a younger man (member of staff) who seemed to take it seriously but I'd had enough by then and just paid and said goodbye. Looked nice inside but no good for vegans I'd be very wary if you have an allergy too. I don't but if I did would of been even worse . I took pizza back in a box and everyone one else agreed it wasn't vegan either. Such a shame. Lovely looking...

I went to Bella Napoli with my girlfriend who is white and I’m a Black man (for context). The first day I went there I thought nothing was wrong but even my girlfriend could sense that there was a difference in the level of service that we was receiving. But we put it down to just being a bad experience. So a few days later we ate there again as this food spot was local to where we was staying. As soon as we entered the premises I could feel the atmosphere was off. As we entered the restaurant the waiter that approached us was very rude instead of him showing us where we was able to sit he just clicked his fingers and pointed to the direction of the table we can sit at. Whilst we sat and browsed the menu we noticed that this is not how “other” customers were being welcomed. I didn’t feel comfortable enough to ask for another drink due to the service I was receiving. Compared to how the staff were treating the other customers (white customers) there was a big difference for instance they would greet them and embrace them and make them feel welcomed into the restaurant. Yes, even making banter with them. What makes it worse is that when it came to paying the bill the waiter wouldn’t even acknowledge my presence he wound only speak to my girlfriend.
Brighton is meant to be a place that welcomes all people but in Bella Napoli I guess you have to be white to fit...
