Chill @ chives — Restaurant in England

Chill at Chives is local to our work, we have used them for over 5 years and have always found them to be friendly with decent portions and good quality food. However since the change in ownership this has all changed the quality of the food has dropped - bread is thinner portions are smaller, staff are openly criticized in front of customers for giving incorrect sized portions yet the prices have gone up dramatically. You wouldn't mind paying the extra if the quality had remained. The only benefit the change made was the look of the interior and some of the equipment that has been purchased. I have given the service a 3 star as the staff are amazing, they are friendly and approachable, however the new owners managements skill are lacking - I would never allow myself to be spoken to or about like that and still work somewhere....

Lovely little cafe I popped in for bite to eat for brekkie . First thing I saw was the front counter with a wide range of freshly made salads etc which is always a great sign . I went for a breakfast cob in which I had bacon sausage and hash brown . Now this is what I call a breakfast cob with proper q quality sausages and bacon coupled with a monster hash brown . I think this was only a few quid as the bacon and hash brown were extra can’t remember exactly but it wasn’t breaking the bank and you couldn’t complain with the generous portions you was getting . If your staying in derby id suggest skip of the hotel breakfast and come here . The staff were also very pleasant and the food came out fairly quick and the great thing there’s plenty of seating inside and out For more food content follow me on socials...

Visited on 28th August with my mate. We like visiting lots of cafes in Derby and Derbyshire, weird I know but didn't even know this was here until I walked past with my dog a few weeks back. Anyhow, popped in and ordered the large breakfast and regular one. Well what can I say it was lovely, nice sausage and bacon. Mushrooms were nice and the Roberts super thick toast was superb to finish it off. Nice big mug of tea or coffee. Good honest cafe. Super value, nice, clean and the ladies that work there are lovely. Definitely going...
