China City — Restaurant in England

We were a party of six and decided to call in on the off chance of a meal as it was later in the evening, we needn't have worried as there were only 2 others dining. Looked ok from the outside, on entering when we asked if we were able to get a meal they looked at us as if we were a party of 60 not 6. Anyway they sat us down and we prepared to order our drinks but the wait seemed long, finally the girl came and began to put the order through on the ipad, next thing we had another girl saying the first girl had done the order wrong so she procedded to retake the order with the first girl at her side, going through our order she checked what we wanted .... Slime and Soda, Vodkagin & Tonic .... I don't think I need tell you anymore, they hadn't got a clue and they also didn't have a clue we were laughing at them 🤣🤣. Then onto the food, well I expect you can imagine that wasn't as simple as just placing the order, we began by telling them the dishes we wanted but they didn't know what the dishes were so one of us said maybe the numbers would help and yes that was definitely the right option. One of our dishes was Seabass and as soon as they'd taken the order we knew it wouldn't be long before they came out and said they didn't have any, how right we were. At this point we had considered cancelling our order and leaving because the service was abysmal. The hot plates were bought out 5/10 mins before the food then the food began to arrive, one of the waitresses came out with two Chow Meins, and said "Two Beef Chow Meins", we answered no and she promptly held one up peered over it and said " Aah no this one has prawns in it "😂 The remainder of the order came out along with a hotplate which was no more use than ornament ! However I can honestly say that the whole meal was faultless and really enjoyable so hats off to the 👨‍🍳. We also witnessed one of the waitresses asking the other couple if they would like some water to take the taste away and the other one clearing their table before they had finished.

The chef is obviously very good but the staff let this place down big time. There are also delivery guys coming in to pick up and along with the front of house team are noisy and not considerate of people dining in.

Would we go in here again if we ever came to Bridlington again, yes for the food, no for the service . I feel sorry for the managment as this could be a really lovely place to eat but...

SHOCKING!! The hygiene was shocking- one of the waiters had pimple patches above her lip which was hanging off, which is disgusting, should not have that when working in a restaurant. We got there at 6:45pm quite empty so we thought it would be smooth sailing. We ordered a set meal for 1, set meal for 2 and a starter and main Starters came one of them was freezing and hard, one of them just smelt completely off. None of our meals came at the same time there was always someone waiting for their food. Moving on to the mains- half of the set meal for 2 was missing when we questioned it there response was “oh right, erm we will go cook the other dish because we haven’t cooked it yet” Like sorry you haven’t cooked half of our meal? The staff were then stood at the bar area talking about customers as when she walked over to the bar after dealing with another complaint from another family one of the waiters said “what are they complaining about this time” All of this was brought up and the service back was just so unprofessional! We have eaten here before and only a couple times and only had 1 bad experience so we wanted to give it another go but this time was by far the most unhygienic, unprofessional and disgusting food. There were even tables next to us who had been waiting for their mains an hour! We also waited 1hour 10 mins for main meals. There weee people waiting for takeaways to then be told it isn’t in the system anymore and after an hour of waiting they got the food! We went here last night for a meal. It was a little bit of a let down tbh. Don't get me wrong the food was amazing but the service was disgusting from the female waitress we had. The menus wasn't that clear and we had to ask questions which she had no clue what they were. We thought she must be training, got the drinks order wrong go start then didn't know what the dishes were, we asked if they did young chow fried rice as a side and was told it was £5.60. So ordered 2. One meal didn't even come out as she missed it off the order. Got the bill and they charged around £9.70 each for the rice. As they charged us for the main dish. Ended up having to get the manager out on his day off. He was not happy and then tried to blame it on us. The training of staff is far below par. Daniel on the other hand seemed lovely and really tried to help and seemed very frustrated by the lack of the female waitress knowlegde and her unprofessional behaviour. He had to apologise and said she had been here a couple of months. When I worked in a restaurant this level of service was not acceptable at all and would have been dismissed. This restaurant has the potential to be amazing it just needs some focus in the front...
