I ordered pork medallions in a Dijon sauce. What I received was pork medallions in a warm Marie Therese sauce with prawns, not a hint of mustard. Not as described. The prawns spoilt the dish. I ordered chocolate orange cheesecake. It was very nice but it was a light whipped mouse which was not heavy on the chocolate and with no discernable orange. The soup of the day was excellent The table settings and the service could not be faulted, but I would have appreciated some honesty as to the menu description. When here for Sunday lunch, after reading the fantastic reviews. There was three meats too choose from, beef pork & lamb. I ordered the lamb, when it came it was really dissapoining, it looked & tasted nothing like lamb, it certainly wasnt cut off a leg of lamb.. My husband ordered the three combo. The only meat, that was freshly cooked, was the pork, both the beef & the lamb, were boil in the bag in gravy & wafer thin. Frozen Yorkshire puddings. Came here for a Boxing Day lunch, service was very quick, and we really enjoyed our food. The fried brie was delicious, as was the chicken and the crème brûlée was incredibly creamy. Staff were prompt, polite and friendly, decor is also something to be praised, it gives off a very warm and homely vibe to the place.
