Only rating it 1 star as can't rate any lower!! I'll start off with the good points.... The creamy garlic mushrooms were lovely... The young lad serving was pleasant enough...Now the bad points... The place is filthy looks like they haven't re hired a cleaner since it reopened after lockdown... Served my 8 year old daughter a raw chicken skewer 🤢🤮 Sunday lunch the chicken was drier than the Sahara desert, roast potatoes were cheap frozen efforts and the chips served with cheap chicken nuggets were slimey... Gammon looked like pigs tongue. All in all absolutely disgusting, lady behind bar who was addressed as the supervisor didn't give a monkeys about the service she provided. JUST AVOID AT ALL COSTS THERE IS AT LEAST 10 PUBS LOCALLY THAT YOU COULD GO TO AND HAVE A DECENT MEAL.

Large pub with beer garden out the back. Has water for dogs in a barrel in the beer garden. Quite smart interior decor. Two ladies loos - first one had no seat, second one had broken skewiff seat and the lock didn't work. Bit shabby these little details, they're a quick fix but can weigh against ratings. Helpful lass on at the bar, but she can't pull her beer! Served me a totally flat half with no head, which affected its taste. It wasn't nice, so I didn't drink it all. Went somewhere else to take the horrible taste away. Handpulled cask beers were Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Mad Goose Purity.

Ive given it 2 stars to be kind! The menu promised a lot but very disappointing when we go it! The cow pie sounded great, but when I got it, it was sloppy mince with a barely cooked pastry lid, the beef my friend had was tough enough to sole a shoe!!! All I can say the veg was nice, and Yorkshire pudding passable, wouldn't recommend it for a special lunch! In fact, not recommended at all!

Booked for 15 xmas dinner, terrible food quality, Barman Callum was very friendly and helpful but any and every request to other staff was met with heavy sighs and eye rolling. Only 12 of our party could attend so we didnt expect the last 3 plates to be served 15 minutes after the other 9 got theirs and with cold mash..2... yes only 2 mushy sprouts, leather yorkshire puds , greasy gravy and shop bought frozen roast potato... starter of garlic mushroom resembled baby food, vile. bread roll not cooked (one of those part baked ones... not cooked .. pasty and raw...

Staff walked past table and asked "is everything alright?" I said no the mash is cold... but they kept walking, obviously not really interested if things were Ok or not... Xmas pud was lovely... well done tesco !! We asked for a take out for one of the 3 that couldn't attend but this was met with more eye rolling snd sighs... we eventually got a dried up offering not fit for a dog. This was a christmas dinner for staff and clients with learning disabilities... no festivities... not even a cracker and candles on table "we dont light them, decoration only" Do yourself a favour... order macdonalds... its...

Not having been here for quite a while , we decided to call for a sunday lunch. This pub is a very nice venue , and it has changed hands since we last went. The new managers and staff are very nice, and you are made to feel comfortable and welcome. We had booked a table which they had reserved for us ,and went to order drinks at the bar, and was given the menus. It had a reasonable amount of meals to choose from but asked waitress what the sunday dinner choices were . It was beef gammon and chicken We had three small and three regular plates. The vegetables were served separate which I always appreciate, rather than serving everything on the plates , having the choice to help yourself for someone with a smaller appetite, is much better so thankyou fir that. The meals were very nice and adequate for our needs . We finished with a nice cup of coffee as was full up after our meals. I would recommend you give it a try I am sure you would like us ,come away full...

Called in for a late Sunday lunch, place empty, although it was 4.00pm. Asked what starters are available and was told there wasn't any, we were offered broccoli with cheese sauce, we thought yuk. We ordered two roast pork and a roast beef, we got two beef and a pork, not much of a problem we just shrubbed it off. We were very disappointed at the way staff dressed, could not distinguish who was staff and who were customers, everyone seemed to be going to the kitchen and coming out with a plate of food, looks like there is no hygiene in place which started alarm bells ringing. Staff didn't know what was what, had to ask for cutlery and condiments. Although there was hardly anyone in the place we were asked to pay up front. What we ate was palatable, but was disappointed no mash with the dinner. I recommend staff to be be given proper training, a smart dress code and stop people entering what should be an hygienic kitchen especially in...
