Went to bar to get some drinks there was a guy sat at bar being loud and swearing thought nothing of it as its a pub,anyways Was sat outside having a nice pint with my wife and my children when a lady came to collect the empty glasses on the table and told my children to sit down and shut up accused us of bringing drinks in the pub which was already there when we arrived! I was sat in shock and in complete disbelief, the kids was sat down behaving not doing anything wrong at all,anyways next time the lady came outside I asked her why she thought it was acceptable to tell my kids to shut up,it turns out it was the landlady helen who told my children to shut up she showed no remorse and she shouted the same guy who was swearing before at the bar to come stand behind her! Beers) and a cider on hand pump. No food as such. Wheelchair access is limited as 2 steps need to be negotiated at the wide doors or a narrow door at the initial entrane, but doable with help. Read moreFound this gem on Saturday afternoon..it was freezing weather so we popped in for a warmer. We were taken aback by the flurry of people ..absolutely buzzing and a fab soundtrack playing . This is a PROPER PUB. The wine was decent and affordable and we were party impressed with the reminders to parents to keep children seated and off the premises by 7pm . The outdoor seating area also lovely . This will be a favourite of ours when we visit regularly. Well done ..top marks from us picky...
