Chomp Gastro Beach Bar — Restaurant in England

So... we have been stalking this place online for a little while, and the three mile beach resort for years. It was our wedding anniversary so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it out. We will definitely be back, and the food was nice, you can tell effort has gone into the menu and the flavours are fresh, but it was not served hot. My husband queued for food and was 5th in the queue at the H Van when he started, it took 25 minutes and only two of the people in front were ordering food. If the cocktails were being made fresh I could understand it but they were all pre made, fruit etc was being cut as drinks were ordered.

I would love to come back when they aren't running on skeleton staff, one taking orders and serving drinks, one in the kitchen and one serving food to tables and glass collecting just isn't enough for the number of covers they had.

It's great that non residents can come to chomp, however I think those that are paying for use of the lodges would probably expect hot food and shorter waiting times. I hope that as the season ramps up they increase staffing levels, they needed double what they had last night. They had also run out of some of the menu choices so I just don't think they were expecting to be busy after the weather has been so changeable.

Saw signs for the Chomp from Gwithian Beach car park. We had visited the beach late in the afternoon after a rainy morning. We decided to head up to the Chomp for a drink before a walk back to our accommodation.

We arrived just as the staff were opening. They were very friendly and provided us with some menus at our table. We ordered drinks and food. The food was made to order and was quick to arrive. Really tasty We all enjoyed our meals and had another drink.

We sat in on of the beach huts which was spacious and had lighting, heating (not that we needed it), plugs, and USB ports for charging your devices.

We have been visiting this part of Cornwall for many years but didn't know this beach bar was here. We will definitely return on...

What a fantastic find!

We visited here for a birthday meal and were lucky enough to sit in one of the huts. The food was by far some of the most delicious food we’ve had, we ordered steak, that was cooked to perfection, chips and Greek salad sides, which were amazing! Our children had sausage, chips and peas which they really enjoyed. You can tell that the ingredients used are top quality. I really like that you can see the food being prepared.

The atmosphere is calm and chilled, and The team here are extremely friendly and definitely make your visit enjoyable.
