St Gothian Sands — Attraction in Gwinear-Gwithian

Not too far from the car park to get down onto the beach. We took a shorter path with steps but there was a longer path that led down to the far end of the beach (only just wide enough for a cart/pram).

Once you’re on the beach it was nice and flat, with plenty of space to run around and build sand castles. Was a great place for paddle boards and beginners surfing with gentle waves. We sat up by the rocks for shelter from any wind. Lifeguards were on duty all day. Dogs were allowed on...

Wonderful for walking, dogwalking, bird watching, etc. Surprisingly unspoilt with easy parking. Nice local cafés and toilets. There are quite a few surfers around as well, right the way through the year. Not surprising though, as the beach is spectacular and the waves can be quite big. It's also a good place to watch kite surfing. Good place to bring the family and dogs for some fresh air. There are parts of the beach that dogs are banned in the summer months but off season...

Beach may have been clean and lovely, but the 'rock pools' (that were just a big rainpuddle) that we went to didn't look very clean compared to the beach, and my brother fractured his shin here while paddleboarding in one of the 'rock pools.' It traumatized us and I can't detach the experience from here. That's why its 2 stars.
