Second day of holiday, gusting winds, driving rain. We decided to go to Bridport Wednesday market despite the elements. We walked into a cafe and got told abruptly "We're not open" then ignored. With a two fingered gesture to that establishment we walked from one end of town to the other not seeing anywhere inviting. We were about to turn around and go home but decided to walk another 20 yards and there it was. The Green Yard. An absolute hidden gem. It is a cosy little cafe with well spaced seating. Upon entering, the (I assume) owner was inviting and chatty and made you feel welcome straight away. The breakfast we ordered was delicious, well cooked and served in a timely manner. There was a steady flow of regular customers and you could tell the staff there were well liked. Also while we were there, a large party of 10 arrived and they were processed with just as much enthusiasm as we were. On closing in my opinion a very telling factor of a good eatery is the condition of their restrooms and these were basic but clean. We would recommend The Green Yard to any visitors to Bridport but get there before 2pm as they shut at 3pm. P.S. they do baked goods too with some interesting looking nibbles and they...

Was taken here to lunch, fantastic little cafe tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Bridport. Positives; Good proficient menu, a particularly the breakfast just enough options without going overboard. *Served by a young man who seemed mildly clueless in the classic manner of teenage boys, but who was nonetheless efficient, helpful and polite. Followed my instructions beautifully 😉 *everything was clearly cooked to order 👌🏻 Serious yum sandwich, nice big hunk of bread and generous filling = one happy customer. clean and bright and airy inside. Negatives;- *Awkward little step as you come in and out nearly had a poor elderly lady come a cropper. And the radio could do with being turned down a touch just to keep the calm and relaxed vibes coming. (I’m kinda scraping the barrel though to find the...

To be completely honest, I was a Green Yard Virgin. The time had come to rectify that and pop my green yard cherry. Went with a friend and neither of us were sure exactly what to expect. Would it be a run of the mill town cafe? Would it be lots of oldies sitting round eating cake and having a milky cuppa? No it absolutely wasn't. We were really impressed. The food was top notch and yummy and the banter alongside it was a perfect addition for the likes of us! The cafe quickly filled up with each customer getting their own tailor made version of banter from the owner and each plate of food that came out looked just as good as ours. There was only one fault....and that was ours for not having been here before. We will be back without a doubt and thank you for a perfect...

In addition to my earlier review (below) I can now add, having become a serial Bubble and Squeaker, that the all day breakfast is well worth a go... really good local bacon, sausage, perfect egg... mushos, beans, BLACK PUDDING, hash brown... excellent toast... if you find yourself hungry in Bridport (and you can get in!) You won't get scrummier anywhere else... We first visited a few months ago when house-hunting, and it's now become our Go-To breakfast and lunch stop... yesterday I tried the bubble and squeak will bacon and poached egg. Yes YES YES! absolutely top tuck and extremely good value for money. Staff are absolutely charming, friendly and helpful... the coffee is excellent... Top marks!
