The Lord Nelson Bridport is a Gem of a place.
James cooked us the most amazing Pizza. We both said it was the best Pizza we have ever had, very light, with a wonderful homemade thin sourdough base, we could choose what we wanted on top, they were then cooked in their own Pizza oven. Served by James the Chef himself on a big wooden board with Sm jugs of Chilli oil and Olive oil, and fresh small chunks of Parmesan to have with the Pizza. The tables are all old and unique the chairs have cushions.
Edward. James business partner kindly showed us around while our Pizza’s were cooking. We found it all delightful, full of Character. We loved the light massive Skittle alley. It also has a games room, and another room for entertainment. Nearly all rooms have wonderful open working fire places.
Up stairs four large, lovely fresh double bedrooms en-suite for letting out.
They have a lovely Walled Beer Garden, which they have planted up with very nice plants, and herbs. There are very nice teak tables with quality sun umbrellas.
You must go when visiting Bridport.

Read moreBasic pun accommodation - but very good for a night or two. Would give three stars for facilities, four stars for friendliness so I guess it really should be three and a half. The rooms are clean and the beds are reasonably comfortable. There are tea/coffee making facilities provided, and the usual bathroom commodities. The pub is undergoing refurbishment at present and if the standard of bedroom decor is anything to go by it will certainly benefit from this. No breakfast is available, but there are recommendations offered for nearby venues which can be walked in a couple of minutes- and West Bay is only a couple of miles away with excellent choices (including Rise Cafe).||The beer (from local brewery Palmers) in the pub is very good.||There is no car park but there is a public car park next to the hotel (the bottom end for long stay) and this is free from 6pm to 8am. There are also two EV...
