Having lived at many locations around the World I believe I know a decent/good coffee when I taste it. Firstly I have noticed that in many places the capochino has turned into a drink of warm milk with very little coffee content and no consistany (i.e. What you receive on a Monday could be vastly different from what you get on a Friday). I won't mention names but there are several reasons for that eg. Poor coffee, not cleaning the water jug, small measures of coffee, skimmed milk, uncaring staff.
In my opinion the last and only remaing venue for a good coffee on the high street is coffee #1, keep up the good work, they sometimes have a newspaper available too, which could be from the day before but hey it's only news.
Of course I'm posting from the small town of Hereford not London or Birmingham but it's clear that Coffee #1 care about rural...
Read moreNice place very busy when we visited. The staff sometimes have a problem communicating with each other. I've been three times now and twice they got my order with cream and gingerbread missing. When I pointed it out was told it was extra. I said yes I know that's why when the young girl asked if I would like them with the gingerbread latte I said yes. I don't make a fuss as sometimes things can't be heard over the noise. My son was a bit disappointed but like me he just thought never mind. I don't know if they have less busy days we went on Saturday. Overall it's a good place for a great coffee and a chat but may have to speak up a bit louder...
Read moreDecided to have lunch here with my mum, but wish we hadn't. Staff took forever to make our coffees, and they ended up being too strong anyway. When our paninis eventually arrived, they were both cold and the mozzeralla wasn't melted through. Mine ended up being incorrect. Waitress was polite and welcoming, but staff at the counter made us feel like we were intruding on their personal time. No smiles whatsoever. Did not go to the toilet so we can't say anything about that. However, from looking at recent reviews, it seems we dodged a bullet. At least the ice cream shop opposite was nice. It took the disgusting pesto taste...
